Stupid me. I've actually been listening to the radio lately and noticed that on a lot of tunes that I like, the bass sounds like it is just a tad on top of the rhythm. :like just a tick or two ahead of the rest of the tune. Not sure I' describing this right but it seems that BIAB's bass is always laid back. How do I get it to drive ahead of everything else? And of course, I wanna know how to do it with MIDI and RT's.

The carat (^) symbol is your friend. On the US keyboard layout the carat symbol is located above the number seven (7) on the next to the top row of the keyboard.
One carat ^ pushes by a 1/16th note. Two carats ^^ push by a 1/8th note.
The pushed note replaces the note that normally would fall in the quarter note position so you can not have both a pushed note and a quarter note.

The term 'tick or two' here can be misleading. In MIDI in BIAB, it means 1/120th of a quarter note! Pretty small; you would probably not even hear a difference that small. And, for exporting to other programs, this 120 ticks per beat can be increased to up to 960.
You definitely want to search BIAB Help for a Push, as Jim said. It's listed in Pushes, Shots and Holds.
Jim reversed it, though: one carat is an eighth note push, two is only a sixteenth note. Easy mistake as it's not intuitive.
Certain BIAB styles do indeed have a RealTrack bass playing ahead of the beat. Some of the Latin jazz ones, especially the Pocket basses, will do that. They may play a full beat anticipated.
For MIDI, you could even copy the bass track to the Melody or Soloist, do a time shift to the left (earlier), copy it back to the bass track, and freeze it.
There is another setting in the Edit Menu you should look at, called Slide Tracks. [In older versions of BIAB, it's in the Play menu] Open that up and set the bass to a negative number to make it play 'early'. Again, that's in ticks as defined above. Try -10 or larger to really hear it clearly. I have mine set on -2 by default, regardless of the style, which I then tweak.

Thanks Matt and Jim. I will play with this a bit. I think the time shift area is what I might be looking for.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first?
