Hi all,

I could use your opinion about this original song I'm working on. Please let me know what you think about it. Thanks in advance!

Hi Superbron, Please take these comments as they are intended - That is to help.
I found that the strings seem to cut out too soon on some of the parts of the song.
Maybe you could edit the strings and lengthen some notes in the piano roll.
I would also double the strings and on the doubled track bring them up an octave.

Just my thoughts.

Regards
Michee

NOI, SB. This is Stage One, right?

It needs a LOT of work yet - you have a nice skeleton and an in interesting collection of parts. The structure is good. Mmm, carry on!

First I would slow this down - too peppy for a love song. Your chord progression has been used a lot so you need
to find a fresh approach - try different grooves and basslines. Pedal point might work or a more sparse instrumental
background - all worth trying.. Another approach might be to just work with the melody line with no chordal
background and try to make it as distinctive as possible - that can get you away from forcing the melody into a chordal
box . Maybe listen to the Coasters or other groups that were so masterful at producing a romantic sound and think about
what you could use from their approach. - Just some ideas to get the muse going - in the end you can't please everyone
so you gotta please yourself.

PeteG:

Coasters? "Romantic sound"? You mean like: "I'm a Hog For You Baby"?

Or any of these: Riot in Cell Block Number Nine, Young Blood, Yakety Yak, Searchin', Idol With the Golden Head, Charlie Brown, Along Came Jones, et cetera.

I would bet money that you meant to type "Drifters." Yes?

Super,

For some reason, your two links do not open for me here. I think it is my pop-up/firewall blocker?
What is the name of the song? I see several listed on the SC site? Thanks,

Trax

Whoops! And my apologies, actually the group I was thinking of was the Platters - Only You, Ebb Tide, Smoke Gets in Your Eyes, Twilight Time -to me they have a super romantic sound. I really have a hard time with names and I'm not surprised. I muffed this one. I had thought about checking myself and should have.

Thanks all for listening and your opinion. I'll rework this song and post a new version soon.

Does anybody have an opinion about the drums? That's actually why I posted this song here. I am kinda divided between loving and finding them to busy. Anyone else?

Cheers

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
