Hello everyone,

This is our last forum post of 2016.
I consider this one of our best ballads. It features the beautiful Eddy Dunlap pedal steel guitar RT.
It wasn't easy to sing (took us quite a few takes) because the song's key wasn't really our comfort zone.
But it resulted in one of our most powerful harmonies, I think.

Any comments are welcome.

Rob

Hard believing
It's what you made me do
No matter where we're falling
No matter where we look

Now did you leave
the best of worlds behind
could you not see
just what it is we'd find
Oh my love we should be healed

It's hard believing
With all the things you said
No matter where I'm running
Whatever love I'd get

How could I leave
your precious world behind
Too blind to see
It's only pain I'll find
Oh my Love you should be here

Hard believing
It's what you made me see
No matter where we'll end up
No matter what we'll be

Or did you need
me running back to you
Not make me see
just what it is you do

And all our dreams
What did they mean to you
All this revealed
My barren heart is sealed

Hi Rob & Anne-Marie,

What a super power ballad.

Loved the whole thing, but in particular the pick-up at around 1.28 - beautiful bit of production.

Vocals? Maybe not in your comfort-zone, but you'd never know - both the lead vox and harmony are stunning.

Very atmospheric video to complete the package.

An excellent way to end the year.

ROG.

Rob & Anne-Marie,

Terrific! Yes, you are ending the year on a high note.
The melody ( and your vocals ) are so captivating that its easy to float by the lyrics...and they are good, avoiding the big ballad cliches.
To my ears this has real commercial potential.
Lovely video images too.

Thank you ROG for such a thoroughly positive comment! laugh
About the break:
It was quite tempting to do this, considering the beautiful style which already had a lot of "fullness" in it.

We wish you al the best and a very musical 2017.

Rob & Ann-Marie,

A great ballad to end the year on!

By the way, I loved the dark and moody colours in the video.

I and no doubt many others look forward to your future offerings in 2017.

All the best,
Jez

Beautiful! Wonderful sound. Some of the prettiest harmonies I've heard you do. Great arrangement of the backing tracks too.
Love it.

Rob & Anne-Marie,

I agree with all that's been said already. Your vocals and harmonies are always good - and this might be one of your best! Strong.

Excellent arrangement. Terrific build. Excellent mix. The piano is EQ'd nicely. Nice use of the steel (the new ones are a great addition to BIAB!).

Beautiful song. Nice video! A great listen (many, in fact).

Wishing you a productive 2017 (for our sake! smile )

What's left to say? It's the quintessential power ballad. Absolutely nothing left to add to it and nothing to take away.

The arrangement, vocals and both the audio and video production are spectacular. What a way to close out the year.

Have a great holiday season!
