Thoughts that sprang to mind as I listened were: very lush sound, psychedelic, creative, fearlessly original, definitely 100% David Snyder.
I'm pretty sure they could write a television series about your musical escapades! I don't know anyone who travels across the plains of musical diversity like you do.
David, I'm very glad to have known you now just in case you start acting normal. Wow what a dreamscape of sounds. Definitely dipped in the Beatles, a trippy Lennonesqe write. A great listen. Tom
What he said!
Damn man, how do you approach these arrangements? Is it all in the head spontaneously? More incremental?
Amazing. BTW, maybe it was floyd's mention of Buffalo Springfield but I heard a spot of Stills in there....somewhere.
1.) I read Herb's column about the "rotting songs" that never made it out of the studio and burst out laughing and said "Gotta write that song." Lyrics came in two stages, with a heavy edit, in about 10 minutes. I posted my scribbled notes written on a scrap of paper as a joke in the songwriting app discussion on songwriting forum.
2.) I knew I wanted to get a Beatles/Mitch Easter sound reminiscent of "Rain" so I picked the simplest backing tracks possible and used mostly open chords, or near chords, in the Key of G/D because that is what they did in Rain. A lot of open notes and very few "closed" chords.
3.) I wanted the bridge to be all out Beatles so I created a C section in BIAB with mostly strings but kept 2 guitars--one was a user track I made especially for that song with a repetitive G6 riff. I changed the key from G to A though but put in a bunch of accidentals.
I am at about 1 hour 15 minutes now.
4. Load the thing up in Real Band and do the vocals.
5. Export all files to Sonar, add in a couple of synths, and add a lot of effects to the vocals, drums, bass etc.
That was about it. I think maybe 2 and 1/2 hours with another 45 minutes to mix it.
Glad you liked it. Just goofing around.

I entirely agree with floyd. You’re so straaaaaaange. But I don’t mind. In fact... I rather like it... Your Beatleishness seems mixed with a little Byrds and a little Buffalo Springfiled - you're covering an awful lot of classifications... I think your continuous ambitious works are worthy of respect. Very enjoyable listen.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.
Update your Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows® Today!
Update your Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows for free with build 1111!
With this update, there's more control when saving images from the Print Preview window, we've added defaults to the MultiPicker for sorting and font size, updated printing options, updated RealTracks and other content, and addressed user-reported issues with the StylePicker, MIDI Soloists, key signature changes, and more!
A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
