Latest song from Chris Spruit and myself, something a little different than we normally do:

Lift me up

The band:

Style used: cookin.sty

Guitar: Fender Tele

LIFT ME UP (by Chris Spruit)

Monday is not kind
and I get up in a haze
Much too late to get things straight
what shall I wear
running up and downstairs
Oh come on, what is wrong with my hair

But You lift me up my darling
you lift me up
you lift me up my darling
like the sweet black coffee in my morning cup

Won’t catch the bus,
oh what a mess, what a fuss
The world is in such a bad state
America has got a monkey
typing twitter to hell
my ear is ringing a bell

But You lift me up my darling
you lift me up
you lift me up my darling
like the sweet black coffee in my morning cup

Morning is not kind
and I woke up in a maze
tell me please, so where are the keys
The car broke down
I've got no shoes on my feet
look at this, I'm down on the street

But You lift me up my darling
you lift me up
you lift me up my darling
like the sweet black coffee in my morning cup

sweet sugar
sweet sweet sugar
lift me up
like the sweet black coffee in my morning cup

Song is also up on soundcloud: https://soundcloud.com/blue-attitude/lift-me-up-featuring-chris-spruit

Dave & Chris,

Cool song. Catchy! - especially the chorus.

Nice work on the tracks. Good opening. The guitar work is nice - tasty solos...
The organ sounds great - stands out nicely without getting in the way.
The drum touches are nice.

Well sung. Nice harmonies.

Well done all 'round. Several listens.

Dave and Chris,

A very nice and clean blues/jazz rock song. Very nice vocals and that organ does wonders.

Thanks, Scott! Yeah, I just love the tele. Only had it a few months, I've always been mostly a strat guy. Makes me wish I bought one 20 years ago! I'm playing through the S-Gear amp simulator BTW.

Dave & Chris,
Enjoying a few listens - a very upbeat way to get a grey day going.
I liked the topical humour in the lyrics and the way the guitar cuts through the backing.
All good!

Dave and Chris,

This is really happy and feelgood from the first bar onwards. I loved it. The backing is mixed to perfection and Chris's singing is an excellent fit.

You've both done a great job creating this. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Regards,
Noel

Yes, can't beat having a B3 in the mix. I've used one in most of our songs, such a great sound.

Most cool! Love the way the Booker T sounding intro morphed into the fusion feel Bob mentioned.

The vocals, guitar and the entire groove are hittin' the note!

This is one of the more inventive and unique sounding posts we've heard in a long time.

You might want to explore more down this road!
