Well....
I got just enough courage up to throw caution into the hurricane.

This is my latest BIAB song being the 1st one on the song list.
It's called She Sizzles.
(my other 4 BIAB songs are in order below this one)
http://www.soundclick.com/bands/default.cfm?bandID=897733

This mix is on my KRK Rockit 8's.
My (bass player) buddy listened on his JBL4208's and suggested two minor adjustments being -1.0db for drums and +.5 db on lead axe track.
(I always agonize over my own vocal = quality/ability)

I'm pretty happy with this mix but that doesn't mean I haven't overlooked something.
So...I'm curious how this mix may translate to other monitor systems of the forumites here.

To any that need a diversion and are inclined to give a listen and comment I'll sincerely thank you in advance.
Of course, any comments are welcomed....you know...'the skin of a snow tire' thing. smile

=BBSF_GO.STY Shuffle Blues (120 RT) This blues swing shuffle features Guitar El Rhythm Blues and Organ B3 Background Blues. T=110-140 (M-Acoustic String Bass, M-Ac.Piano, El.Guitar, Organ, Drums=BluesShuffle^6-HiHat,HiHatOpen)

She Sizzles
Verse 1 & 2
She sizzles....hot to the tough. Every man's curse and every man's crush.
Sizzles...she don't want much. I little bit of everything might be enough.
A/G/D/A7
She sizzles....in satin & lace. Strolls on over with a cigarette case.
Sizzles...she looks in your eyes and says 'hey stranger, how 'bout a light'
Chorus
She moves in close with sultry conversation.
You don't stand a chance tryin' to fight that fine temptation.
LEAD
Verse 3 & 4
She sizzles....the talk of the town. Miss Cool is going out on the prowl.
Sizzles...from here head to her toes and quite accustomed to silver and gold.
A/G/D/A7
She sizzles....it's been verified. Once bitten by the queen of desire.
Sizzles....she's super deluxe. I'd recommend that you buckle on up.
Chorus
Who could resist, blinded by captivation.
As I recall, it was a very special occasion.
LEAD
Chorus (repeat)
Who could resist, blinded by captivation.
As I recall, it was a very special occasion.
She sizzles.....she sizzles....end.

Hope you found it worthy of your time.

Wayne,

"she don’t want much. A little bit of everything might be enough." <<< Good line!

A good write for a Stevie-Ray-type blues rocker. Stop agonizing over your vocals - they are perfect for this...

The mix is good. Guitars, bass and drums all where they should be. Vocal, too. The harmonies sort of "jump out atcha" - for this type song, I would put them (much) farther back (personal choice).

I enjoyed this. It rocks. Don't be shy - bring 'em on...

Wowsers....

90db....
Me, on those screamin' guitars? Absolutely not!
I kinda got lost in BIAB as to who the axe players were on this one.
The real time vampire on this one was getting all the axe phrases cut up and positioned to my liking from (6) different guitar tracks....whew.

FJ....
OK...coming from a great vocalist like yourself that minimizes my personal criticism a bit. Overcoming 'shy'ness (in this context) is an obstacle for me.
I also thought about those harmonies being a bit too up front.
It's a worthy comment and I'll revisit that aspect.
The STYLE reminded me of SRV too along with a snippet of Brian Setzer.

rdean....
Thanks to you also for the kind comments.

I'm grateful to all for your listening time and kind comments.
I've worked on this muther steadily since 11/20/16 and it does feel good to get this one off of my creative plate.
I've got two others in the works.

Carry on....

Very timely play on words. smile

I tend to equate my vocals with the distinct sound of a dull chain saw.
I'm trying to be less critical of them.

Thanks for listening and the generous comments.

Wayne, you definitely have a SRV vibe going here! I also feel the vocal works just fine. Take care, Torrey

Excellent work.

Nice playing or editing on the playing.

That B3 rocks!

I could hear ZZ Top throwing their interpretation on this.

Torrey....
Vocals are always my biggest challenge...never been very confident even though I've had to sing in bands longs ago.
During those days, I was always surrounded by others who could sing better than myself and managed to squeak by.

Herb....
ZZ Top didn't occur to me until you mentioned it....wouldn't that be an honor to have them do a version of one of our songs!
Funny, that 'rockin' B3 was on the default style choice with first generation.
I loved it too and immediately froze the tracks. smile
No...all the axe playing is not me by any stretch.
As I mentioned earlier, it took me a couple days to get all the axe parts in place and synced up.

Thank you both for taking time to listen, commenting and the kind words.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
