Life On A Skipping Stone Two inspirations for this:1.looking back on how I first managed to get myself out the door to travel, I`m struck by the support I received from my mother, who had never been anywhere herself and 2. listening to the late, great Nick Drake`s simple, repetitive lyric style. Your listens and constructive comments are appreciated! Key=A , Tempo 83, Length (m:s)=3:25 4 bar intro, 63 bar chorus, from bar 5 to bar 67. Repeat x1 chorus No Melody No Soloist track. I haven't listened to the song yet, but reading the poem was a treat. Depth with simplicity. The variations in the music were truly interesting.
Thanks,
Marty

Enjoyable, Robert.
Nice arrangement and instrumentation. Good clear vocal.
Reminded me of early Don McLean.

Hello, Robert
The starting of this tune is very nice. The way the rhythm section enters is so cool. It reminds me of Paul Simon a little bit. The 60's folk vibe of this tune is wonderful as usual. Enjoyed my listen a lot.
Best regards.

There's a world of things to like about this. I (Bud) was immediately drawn to the title because to this day when we are on a river sand bar I will look for the perfect stone to skip.
The instrumental build was very nice and the use of the bluegrass "chop" mandolin worked very well.
The lyric is poetic (in a very good sense) and it along with your fine vocal and RT choice gave the whole piece an electric folk feel.
We much enjoyed it and, yes, when that stone skips and skips and skips there is a joy to it!
J&B

J&B, My skipping prowess has declined with age but I still look for that "perfect" stone on the beach too. I`m glad you liked this - I tried to get some of that flying stone joy into the song arrangement. Robert

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.
Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!
If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.
A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
