Seated in a fairy circle,
In the trees a velvet clearing,
Fire in the middle,
In the woods just out of hearing,
Doves are calling,
Night is falling.
As I experience the MIDSUMMER'S NIGHT.
Breathe the smoke,
It makes you wise,
Read the patterns
In the skies,
Taste the nectar, smell the flowers,
In the shadows are the powers.
As I experience the MIDSUMMER'S NIGHT
For a while, In denial,
This can't be just what it seems.
When the flames call out our names,
Hold me tightly, floating up in dreams.
Queen of Fairies entertains us,
Seated here among the Seven,
Satyr blows a tune of sorrow,
I thought this would be like heaven.
Too much smoke,
Start to choke.
As I experience the MIDSUMMER'S NIGHT.
For a while, In denial,
This can't be at all just what it seems.
When the flames call out our names,
Hold me tightly, floating up in dreams.
The Fairy Queen has run away,
The Satyr packed away his flute,
The Seven look as one down on me,
Faces ashen, standing mute,
Fireflies,
I close my eyes.
