(Video) A New Page

This song was inspired by a strong feeling experienced during a Sunday walk about a new opportunity life has given. My lyrics are usually quite melancholy, but I hope this one brings more positive feelings, despite some of the clichés of the genre. Thanks to Miira for the touching interpretation of my vision, without her dedication to my music I wouldn't have made this song.

Mixed in Adobe Audition 2017.

Lyrics:

I walked blindfolded, couldn't see what
I was looking for to be drawn.
I was a poet stuck in-between chapters
couldn't find right way right day to move on.
You have to act when you get a chance
don't wait until the final dance
your turn is over before you realize
forget what ifs and improvise.

You turned a new page in my life
you opened my eyes to see
a whole new virgin scene right in front of me.
You gave me colors to paint the view
beautiful and unique to my art
on the blank canvas of my heart.

My mind was aging in the sunset
thought I couldn't feel a rousing breeze
but sometimes life catches you by surprise
gives a strange opportunity
for you to seize.
Don't hesitate to take a leap
to feel euphoria in deep
no more regret for choices of your past
nothing here is meant to last.

[Chorus]

Leaned on the wind
embraced the lift of air
you were there for a while
with one starry night to share.
Inspired
I made a song
wrote a poem
drew a flower
cast shallow things aside
didn't waste an hour.

You gave me words for my songline
the path across the fate of mine
I didn't need any signs to choose my track
I went ahead and didn't look back.

I really enjoyed this,

You captured a great ambiance, and Mira's work on the vocals is great & quite remarkable.

It was refreshing and definitely encapsulated a 'New Page'. The vision helped to illustrate to meaning of the song.

Everything about this is enjoyable.

Hello, Janne

Very beautiful song with nice vocal.
Especially the melody line is excellent.
It is also favorable to try various chord progressions.
Enjoyed my listen and watch a lot.

Best regards.

Really pretty song and nice video!! The vibe is wonderful. There is something dissonant going on in the 3rd and 4th chord from the start of the vocal. It happens again later with same changes. Mira has a really unique and pretty style, although she may be a bit pitchy at times. Really pretty and emotionally expressive song. Enjoyed much!! Take care. Greg

Thanks Greg for your valuable feedback, always pleasure to hear what you think. I'm glad you liked the song and the video. About the dissonant part, the song is in Eb key, in the 3rd bar there is a chord with a B note, and at the same time the melody plays Bb. That is intentional, I know it is not perfect, but quite close to my ears. I couldn't find anything that sounded better.

I really like the overall sound and mix
especially the guitars - nice
cool progressions, very pretty vocals
the melody sounds squeezed in on the end of some lines
but overall a very nice melody
a strong write

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
