When I was young and wide-eyed I moved from the 'burbs on the other side of the continent to Sydney where soon I met the second great love of my life and for a while life was very sweet. And glamorous. She was from a showbiz family - her parents knew the Beatles - and their large house overlooking the harbour often hosted global A-listers (a number of whom are now, interestingly, behind bars). We dressed up most nights for dinner or an opening. Then I came home one evening and found her in bed with a bloke she met at a Penthouse magazine event. We tried to get back together afterwards but I couldn't recover from the hurt and she couldn't recover my trust.

I leaned heavily on _CNTRYSH.STY for this one.

Lyrics:
So you come around and tell me this time you wanna stay
And whatshisname I found you with he done left town today
Well see you in another life I’m getting outta here
Tho I can’t say that I won’t shed no tears

When I see you in the street I wonder where you’ll go
Could be in the gutter, or the queen of a Broadway show
You can count on this I won’t be seeing you through the years
Tho I can’t say that I won’t shed no tears

It’s true enough I loved you once and maybe I still do
And the things we did together still catch me unawares
But I can’t stand your cheating heart, so believe me we are through
Tho I can’t say that I won’t shed no tears

All your fancy family friends and all their fancy style
And all your moneyed showbiz types and their glittering careers
Well I do admit for a little while they had me all beguiled
So I can’t say that I won’t shed no tears

Your friends all tried to warn me that you’re one hard act to please
But stick around a while they said ‘cause wonders never cease
Well I stuck around and now I’m off to drown myself in beer
And I can’t say that I won’t shed no tears

A nice country flavored tune ... Too bad you had to really experience the tears. You can tell a good story in song. Enjoyed this one.

This one has a nice loping country feel to it. The single string slow bend solo works well. I enjoyed my listen and all I can say about the girl is B*tch! Tom

Nicely chosen back tracks,

one hell of a back-story

nice song form, sounds good

I could hear Mick Jagger singing this

remember "Far Away Eyes" "Dead Flowers"

Of course meant as a compliment, I love these Stones songs

enjoyed

Kenny

Matcham, what a bittersweet melody.

Regardless of your unfortunate situation, the song was nice to listen to. You did put together a great set of lyrics.

Thanks guys. And for the sympathy. It was a long time ago and tho she doesn't come across well in the story we did eventually mix in the same circles again and even become friends for a while. If she ever hears this song - and she might - I'd expect some banter and a dose of mea culpa.

Dead Flowers. Now there's a song.

Well done Matchum. Heartbreaking life stories being translated to music and song. Very cool tune.... Backtrack really suited the lyric. And I agree with Tom so very cool stuff going on with the guitar....

Cool write! Like Kenny said we could readily feel Mick singing this...really has that country stones groove -- like when they were hanging with Gram Parsons.

Nice!!!

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
