I posted the original demo of this some months back. It was my 1st use of BIAB and, as is usual for me, I only used the drums. I made the drums a little over complicated because i was so excited to have such a cool tool. I was going to redo them but they drums patterns & structure grew on me and, to be honest, were energetic enough to push the song along. I can't recall nor can I find a pointer to, the name of the realdrums used. Sorry.
I've rerecorded all the guitars and bass as well as adding a Mellotron part in the choruses. Now THAT would be a cool real track. REALTron!!!
Enough blather. Here's the finished song - been around the block a few times and singer, Trudy Newell, did 3 bvox as well. I think she did a sterling job. Be warned - turn down you headphones a bit as the track has been mastered quite loud though not in Loudness Wars terms.

Cool track. Got a bit of a punk rock edge to it. Sounds good

I hear that too, plus a little Pat Benatar. Took me back to the 70's, which is where I like to be. Nice job!! Take care. Greg

Sounds really good. Great song, very catchy. Excellent mix.

Only one suggestion: the mix is a little loud and hot. There is some excellent instrumentation in here and if you backed off the red spectrum just a tiny bit, you would get a lot more dynamic contrast.

But that is just a very small observation. Catchy as all get out.

Thanks folks. The master is quite hot but doesn't push the dynamics into the Loudness Wars zone luckily.
It sounds much clearer/dynamic as a .wav file before the Soundcloud Squelch happened but that's life.
On to the next track - BIAB drums'll feature again. That aspect of he program has enabled me to get more done on my Pat Malone.

Hi!

Can't argue with David. We fully agree with him. This is a really cool tune and everything fits just right. And yeah, Soundcloud squeezes some of the sweet spots out of many of the tunes. But, as you said in different terms, it is what it is. Nicely done!

Great work on this Ray, thanks for sharing this! The different elements really glue well together and the mix sounds well polished too. Great tone with the guitar too. Great work!

This is up my street Ray, great instrumentation and the playing is full of verve which transmits to the listener. I love the laid-back vocal too. It all smacks of punk swagger, nice work. I don't mind that someone mastered the living daylights out of it, the overall vibe asked for it!
cool

I agree with Mr. fj: catchy, good mix. I particularly liked the twinned guitar solo.

Vocal control, you say. Never heard of it. Is that some kind of ProTools thing?

Raw rock and roll and it's great! I love this way the chords structure catches the listener off guard and continually guessing where it's going! Great vocals! I don't know who she is but she's REALLY good! Great work again Ray! Thanks, Torrey

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
