Now the thunder is gone And I’m sitting alone A plutonium glare spreading out in my room I see the pink hair of the man on t.v. I see your lips move Are you speaking to me When I was a child I used to believe The paper would come With good news for me Now I’m taking my pills To drown out the noise Comfortably dumb like the good girls and boys And I’m pink as a stone Here in my room Singing my song I wrote it for you
CH:
Pink as you are You know you’re a star You’re pink as the sun You’re pink as the moon And we hope and we pray You’ll be leaving today Like a witch on a broom Like a pig on the wing You’re pinker than Floyd It’s as pink as you get And all that you know Is what you’ll forget
V2
Just killing some time While I’m losing my mind A small drag of this Will help me unwind When I was a child I laughed at a clown He looked just like you Now the clown’s all around The clown’s in my mind Taking up time The clown’s in my room smelling like doom The clown’s on t.v. Staring at me I need my black shoes The men in the van Are coming here soon The men in the van Are coming are here soon
CH 2:
Pink as you are We know you’re a star We see your pink hair In the back of your car But one of these days When we’re pinker than you Then pink will be two and the world will be through We’ll be comfortably dumb Dumb as a thumb And the world will be one The world will be one

There's something a little scary about that one. Seriously I worry about you sometimes. I have to admit that the stream of consciousness lyrics that wander off into the absurdities of the human condition are a bit captivating. Nice guitar playing and production. At this point I don't think we can tame the wildness in your head. And I don't think we should even try. Very entertaining. Always interesting. Keep on keepin on. Tom
When creativity comes your way, it's an explosion! These lyrics reminded me of plays that I've seen from the 'Theatre of the Absurd' genre.... creative, entertaining, mind-boggling.
After listening, I can sincerely say that my music horizons have been substantially broadened!
David, This is the musical equivalent of a modern art " installation" ... I scratch my head, laugh and hope the artist finds those black shoes before the van comes to take him away! Thanks for being brave and keeping us all guessing...I`d certainly come back to hear what`s coming after the set break.
No lack of creativity here!Excellently absurd and too much fun!
You remind me of a friend of mine, Calvin Stewart, from Florida - when you click onto one of his songs, you know you aren't prepared for it and you have no idea what's coming - but you know it's gonna grab ya, so you just can't resist! And when it's finished you stare blankly across the room, in a trance you've never experienced before but say, "Damn, I'm glad I listened to that!"
If the lyrics were posted anonymously, I could have ID'd them as David Snyder-no doubt!! Keep on shinin' on you crazy diamond. After such an accomplishment you should have a cigar, you're going to go far. That is really what I think. I wish you were here so I could congratulate you personally. Remember, it's Us and Them!!! This is extremely enjoyable David! Great stuff!! Take care. Greg

David, what great lines!
How you can compose some great melodic music then come up with something like this is way beyond my comprehension!
Great song - great lyrics - and some super chops going on in the background!
All I can add is " And They're coming to take you away Ha Ha They're coming to take you away ho ho he he ha ha to the funny farm where life is beautiful all the time, and I'll be happy to see those nice young men in their clean white coats and they're coming to take you away ha ha
Me, it's not about how many times you fail, it's about how many times you get back up. Cop, that's not how field sobriety tests work.

To put into words what I am feeling when I hear this song, I would have be at your level, and I'm sure I am not capable of reaching that level! I can't remember when I have laughed so much at a song. You are channeling Weird Al Yankovic doing Pink Floyd. Some really clever lines here. (If only they all went together.)
Seriously, interesting stuff!

Hi David, And when it's finished you stare blankly across the room, in a trance you've never experienced before but say, "Damn, I'm glad I listened to that!"

Al and Di, thanks so much!
I hope you came out of the trance, but that gives me a reason to try and raise the bar.
Next time I am going for a space shuttle launch.

The melody created with many repeats of simple nice motif is wonderful. The unexpected chords that come out sometimes are splendid, which are really your feel. Enjoyed my listen a lot.
Let it all out David! You took the words right out of my mouth with WTF but do you know what? That was one hell of a song my friend. Not only great lyrics but sung in a way that gave the song more meaning. I loved it Paul
Thanks Yorkshire, the song WAS the therapy so all is well.
Sometimes you just have to listen to some Floyd, follow the crazy and press the reset button or you begin to take things a little too seriously, ya know?
This was fun.

I'm going to say I liked that, as a change of pace, as pushing the envelope, as winding up with very good crescendos (the shred solos) and as exploring a facet talked about but little understood, music as therapy.
I don't think I will ever really understand music, or how it works, or anything. It is like staring at the evening sky and wondering how far it goes.
I do know that I find myself really peaceful and still and calm writing the most simple, childlike, harmonious melodies right after I have taken the car out for a spin on the musical autobahn, so to speak, and gone 125 miles per hour in sixth gear to the smell of scorched rubber. The car grinds to a halt, I hit the last chord, the musical screaming is over, and I suddenly feel like a little happy cloud in a blue sky.
And then the simple stuff returns.
I will never figure this thing called music out but I do know I love it.

David, your creative mind never ceases to amaze me. Great work on these lyrics. This has David Bowie all over it (at least to my ears) Keep on rockin' Torrey.

Totally agree! David, this is great - have listened to it multiple times. Really enjoyed!
Very nice listening. This is one of your best for sure. I can hear some David Bowie's influence in your way of singing.
Excellent back ground and guitar playing.
Congratulations for Amplitube settings: I also use Amplitube sometimes but never a setting whit all those effects in one time. I'll take note and try to rebuilt for my uses.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
