For this tune, I decided to work with another producer, Rob Meulman (of Rob and Anne-Marie :)) because he was interested in doing that, and I wanted to see what he could do! My idea was to get as close to a David Bowie sound as I could, and Rob was the man behind the production, so this is a David Snyder song with the Rob Meulman sound. Hope you like it. https://soundcloud.com/davidsnyderchannel/borderline-bluesBorderline Blues By David Snyder Produced by Rob Meulman V1 I’m borderline And I have always been Your disco lights They draw me in Like a bat to a cave Like a moth to a flame Like ashes to ashes It’s just part of the game From Stockholm to Paris All the heroes we knew Were our favorite junkies It’s just what we do We miss Ziggy and Jim Janis where have you been We are all that remains Of a world gone insane CH: And I’m fighting my love The fight of my life Trapped in your darkness And looking for light And I’m fighting my love V2 I can't say it’s a song It’s just another loud sound I scream out your name But no one’s around I cry in the rain But I’m trapped in your pain And no one has time To let me explain No one Has time To let me explain And I guess that’s fine When you’re just borderline And fighting it off And paying your dues With a borderline brain And the borderline blues CH And I’m fighting my love The fight of my life Trapped in the darkness And looking for light And I’m fighting my love Inst. This is wonderful, you two! Definitely a different kind of thing than I've heard from you before, David. I got some Ozzy Osbourne vibes from the vocals, as well, which is always a good thing in my books!

Dear Will, Ozzy? My goodness!! Ok, man you have taken me to a whole new level in my own crazy head, and you have started something you could very well regret. Crazy train is coming man. Crazy train is coming. And it will be all your fault. Thanks!!!

David & Rob,
We've not listened to very much David Bowie but this stands well on its own. We're thinking chilling out in 1978. Great collab. You two have a great sound going on. Oh, there you are - way over there. We can hardly see you through the haze! Cool song, guys! We're on our way over - got get through all the beads first!

David & Rob, Great tune! Outstanding lyrics, vocal, and the production is tremendous! I'm hearing some Ozzy inflections and lots of Bowie... We'll just call this style OzzBow. Great job guys! Bob

I heard Ozzy right away too. I will admit, I wasn't expecting this song at all! It caught me off guard in all the right ways! How I could even have ANY kind of expectation I am about to hear from you is beyond me. If ever the phrase "expect the unexpected" could be used, it would be with you! I didn't even like the phrase until you! ha! Really great song. Thanks for sharing! The Clara backing vocals are pretty awesome in my book. They really give it some shine

David & Rob,
A superb collaboration.
A typically interesting David write (which means not TYPICAL at all).
The instrument bed is excellent. (I like those drums!). The short solo is really nice - best use of the Brent Rock solo I can recall.
Good mix. The vocals a perfectly tucked in.
Easy to get lost in this one. Meaning...very well done - both of ya...

Yeah, David's energetic vocals sometimes need some caging. That's why I tucked him in nicely with Clara ;-). I think he raised my initial arrangement to a whole new level. And with lyrics I could never come up with.

Or The Dystopian Blues Man, like I mentioned at SC...this one slams you in the face and carries you right through to the end. Definitely not in our musical wheelhouse but genuinely captivating. Sometimes the planets line up - the write, vocal and Rob's production all vectored in and produced a helluva piece. One of the most fascinating collabs posted. Cool. J&B

David, I love the tension that never lets up in this song and yes, Rob`s "taming" of your vocals by placing them right into the mix has only added to the intensity here. The background wash of harmony is inspired and brief stab of that guitar solo works perfectly. Let`s not forget - stellar lyrics, especially the first verse!
