With this track I am going back to my love of Jazz. These RealTracks are from the Smooth Jazz SW16 set with a trumpet soloist. I have added my vocals, percussion, synth and lead guitar parts with my Godin nylon acoustic-electric. This track was put together about 5 years ago with an older recording program and is a little heavy on compression but I decided to post anyway. Thanks for listening, Torrey

Found It In You
Copyright 2006
Torrey Bliss BMI

I was lost and searching for that hidden treasure
Looking but not finding real peace of mind
Looking for the answers, answers to my questions
Questions that were asking what's life all about

Oh I had a lonely heart
What I needed was a brand new start
It all turned around when I met You

What I have is more precious than diamonds or gold
Worth more than the treasures of this world untold
Oh I know I've found that true love
I found it in You

There's people out there searching for that hidden treasure
They're looking but not finding real peace of mind
Looking for the answers, answers to their questions
Questions that are asking what's life all about

Oh they've got a lonely heart
What they're needing is the missing part
I know that they will find it Lord in You

Nice song, Torrey. Great message. Your vocals are great.

It sounds over compressed. On your final mix compression, If you cut back the threshhold, and probably the ratio as well, it will have a chance to breathe, all of the songs parts will have more of a chance to be heard. Some of it could be the compression (different kind of compression) that SoundCloud applies to the song for streaming. If you will upload your uncompressed wav file to SoundCloud, they will apply the best compression possible for streaming.

You are very talented, and I always enjoy hearing your songs.

Steve

HI Torrey,

I agree with Steve about the compression. But, that said, this is a great song. Di and I are huge Jazz fans, as you probably know. Great lyric and your voice sits perfectly in the mix. We totally loved this. Your guitar work is real nice and the backing tracks were great choices.

Wishing you the very best.

The first thing that always grabs me is

your sense of melody. Excellent phrasing

always great vocals and super harmonies.

You're showing your range of talent as this

one is a little different, I like it.

I like your ELO, Beatle type pop even more tho

enjoyed

Torrey,

I love everything you do, and I can't say they "keep getting better" because all of them have always been better. smile

But you are undeniably a superb producer and vocalist.

The mix is top of the line professional.

As the executive director of NSAI has been known to say when he really likes something:

"Torrey, I could listen to this song at home on a Sunday."

What else is there to say??

Torrey,

There`s a sophistication to this song which I enjoyed;you really know your way around a melody and your voice (always so smooth!)sounds very comfortable here.
I`m not a jazz fan, but you could win me over!

You have become one of my favorite vocalists here on the forum. This is as a nice melody and pop vibe to me. Like the tasty guitar you added.

A 2006 write and 2012 (5 Years) since you recorded it; This is a high quality write and performance as you posted but it could really pop with a bit more clarity... You may want to put this on your list to update one day... because...

There are a ton of A-list pop jazz performers this would be suitable for. You've done a really good job with this one. One of my favorites so far.

Enjoyed my listen.

Great song and production. Your vocals remind me of one of my all time favorite Michael Franks. Well done

Torrey, That's some fine singing and playing. Nice write and arrangement. I agree that it is over compressed. Even with that problem it is a fine listen. Tom

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
