Hi Ya'll:

For some reason, somebody likes this song. I decided to give it a make over to spruce it up a bit! I wrote it in fun and it still makes me chuckle!!! =D

Have a listen...

I'm sure it had some interesting lyrics..... how could it not with a title like that but the vocal FX treatment made it totally 100% undecipherable to me.

It did however kinda sound like it was English.... I think.

it still sounds the same.

if you want to enhance the vocals, remove ALL of the FX from them, bring them up in the mix and then add just the tiniest bit of reverb.... just a slight amount and nothing else.

Maybe then, folks will be able to understand the lyrics

Dave,

It's great to see that you are spending so much time working on this one and aiming to get it the best possible.

The above being said, the quality of the audio is very poor quality on my speakers. I suspect that this might mean that you uploaded a 96 kbps mp3 (or lesser quality) to Soundcloud.

If you want Soundcloud to give you the best sounding song, it's always best to upload the uncompressed WAV file. The reason for this is that Soundcloud will compress whatever file is uploaded. So, if you upload a compressed file, it gets compressed again and this usually causes lots of artifacts in the final sound (which seems to be what I'm hearing here). The lyrics are lost on me because I can only pick up an odd word here and there.

Regards,
Noel

Good to know!

Thanks for the input. My first upload was a 320 mp3. I later changed it to 16/44.1 wav. I've played the latter on my car CD player and it sounds fine. I'd appreciate it if you could give it another listen at your leisure.

These songs are older and I thought I could make them better. I have a new device to help my vocals for my new releases. Can't wait... =D

*I really like the tone of "Apollo Bay." It sounds like you are home...

until you rework the vocals, changing the sample rate won't solve your problems with this. You can change from mp3 to wave but the fact still remains that the underlying mix is the problem.

Hi again Dave,

Is this song you're working on a pre-existing audio file? If so, does this mean that you no longer have the individual tracks to mix and that all you have is the final mixed file? If that's the case, you are probably not able to do too much more than what you've done.

As I listened this time, I could hear some more words but many were still lost on me. It sounds like you might have some great rhymes happening. You have the advantage here. Because you wrote the song, you'll be able to hear the words very clearly. To someone that hasn't heard it before, though, it's really difficult to identify most of what's being sung.

I'm still hearing the artifacts that I heard before. What is the format of the original file that you're working from?

Have you tried re-creating the song using the latest BIAB tracks?

Regards,
Noel

P.S. Thanks for having a listen to Apollo Bay. Appreciate it.

YUP!

I just can't isolate and rework. But, I'm thinking about doing the whole thing over. This song was one of my first, before I had a clue what I was doing. Still learning but I can make a better copy.

This song has some decaying signals mixed with new ones. I love a challenge. Give me some time I guarantee you'll love it.

Again, I'm very thankful for your help!!! =D

That's how you do it. Start from scratch if necessary. Can't wait to hear the 2.0 version.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
