https://soundcloud.com/user-100559745/tender-loving

Well this is my very first post so please bare with me. Making music and performing no problem. When using the computer I'm not that talented. Tender Loving is a song that I wrote and put together totally in 2015 Band In A Box. Then I loaded the tracks into ProTools to add my vocals and mix it.
I'm retired and live in Florida. I fronted my own band in Milwaukee Wisconsin for 30 years. Lots of recording and styles over the years. Check out pbarrymusic for more. Any comments positive or constructive negative will be appreciated.
Thanks
Paul Barry

Paul,

Welcome to the Showcase!

Nice upbeat song. Terrific energy to the vocals. The BAND works well.

Good mix of the instrument bed. There are a few times when the main vocal could be just a little louder. Drums are nicely mixed.

An enjoyable listen.

Paul, I liked it from the very first note.

Great vocal, although maybe if could come more to the front. The vocals are good but sit back a little too much.

Excellent choice of style.

All around this is a really great effort.

Paul,
A very high energy song that grabbed me right away. Production sounds good. I agree with others about that little tweak in volume on your fine vocal performance.
Excellent first song post!

Welcome to the forum!! Cool song-great vibe and great energy! Everything sounds good but the vocal is a bit buried, and maybe could use a bit more high mids. Looking forward to more! Take care. Greg

Thanks for the welcome and taking the time to give the song a listen. What part of Florida? We're in The Villages about an hour north of Orlando. Moved there because of the live music. They have free live music on three different stages in the complex 365 days a year. Listened to my mix and agree the vocals could be more up front.

Thanks for the encouraging words. Seems to be a consensus that the vocals could have been more up front. And after I listened again I have to agree. Thanks for the feedback. Australia, I'd really like to visit.

Hi Paul,

Well, we listened to this over on SOundcloud and left you a comment there, but it seems we forgot to come back here and leave a word or two. See what happens when you get into your 70s!

We loved this! This is a real cool song. Your voice is perfectly suited for the genre and you really shine. The BIAB backing tracks sound terrific - good choice of tracks!

Cool song! Thanks for a great listen ...

Very cool track.
You sure squeeze a lot of qualities out of Band in a Box !
What are the principles of getting the vocals to punch through the band in that remix? I mean, besides just turning up the volume?
I find myself straining to pick out the words, then stop and think, maybe in that genre, literal discernment is not the point. Dunno.

Agreed! Welcome to the forum. Great piece of music. As Floyd said, the vocal level is a bit uneven. Maybe some compression and verb to smooth it. Has a real live sound and great energy! Very well done!! Take care. Greg

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
