Music lives in our hearts and minds. Broadcast transmissions carry out into space and travel forever reaching other worlds. In 2016 we lost a lot of folks and this was a tune I wrote as a tribute to those whose dreams live on in our hearts, minds, and space. The references in the chorus should be pretty clear but it is Bowie, Prince, Maurice White, and Merle Haggard. Now I will leave it up to you to find the references in the lyrics. The team of Patty and Tony now brings in our daughter Holly doing lead and harmony vocals with Patty layering some doubling and harmony on the bridge. Hope you enjoy. https://soundcloud.com/tsanders/where-dreams-live-on

Nice tribute to a world of lost talent...and we'll mention Gregg Allman also. A sad year indeed.
Nice work on the vocals!
We'd enjoy seeing the lyric and RT's, etc.
Enjoyed it!

I really enjoyed this, tsanders A wonderful tribute! Those vocals are superb too - and I had a lot of fun picking out all the references. Thanks so much for sharing!
Cheers, Deryk

Janice and Bud - Where are you in GA? I grew up there in the Cedartown, Buchanan, Bremen area. Mom and brothers still live there.
OK - Here are the lyrics - not all the people referenced were musicians. In verse 3 John Glenn said that one of the amazing things about being in space was seeing multiple sunrises in a single day - That transformed into sunsets lasting forever. Yeah I was already complete with the tune when Greg passed. I played many Allman Bros. tunes in my many years of playing live.
Verse 1: There's a place in our hearts Where memories of a lifetime Stay alive in a space Never fading with the hands of time
Verse 2: There's a place in our minds Where the sounds of joy and laughter Take us back to a time When the music played our favorite songs
Chorus: Where dreams live on and heroes live forever Where purple reigns and Ziggy plays guitar
Where dreams live on Beyond the twelfth of never On silver wings we can fly
Verse 3: There's a place in the stars Where sunsets last forever and the circle of time sings a song made just for you
Verse 4: Take a walk with a friend travel back from the beginning by the mystical stream sweet freedom on a beam of light
Chorus: Where dreams live on and heroes live forever Where purple reigns and Ziggy plays guitar
Where dreams live on Beyond the twelfth of never On silver wings we can fly
Bridge: Breaking from their earthly ties - they move on waves moving out through space Gently reaching out to other worlds Where dreams live on
Verse 5: There's a place in our hearts Where memories of a lifetime Stay alive in a space Never fading with the sands of time
Chorus: Where dreams live on and heroes live forever Where purple reigns and Ziggy plays guitar
Where dreams live on Beyond the twelfth of never On silver wings we can fly
Chorus: Where dreams live on and heroes live forever Where purple reigns and Ziggy plays guitar
Where dreams live on Beyond the twelfth of never On silver wings we can fly

Touching lyrics, nice musical tune, truly beautiful vocals. I especially liked the bridge part.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!
If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.
A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
