Let Me Go
© 2017 Kenny Leverett
06/16/2017

Girl you comfort me
Like a summer breeze
And for your love
I went down on my knee

Now the evenings I go down
To this little bar
And I don’t think too much
About the way things are

Cause sometimes the pain doesn’t show
Still if you need to darling
Let me go

Well the markets good
We could sell this place
Leave this house behind
See what there is to find

If the truth be told
You left me long ago
Too many fights ago
Can’t say I didn’t know

Still sometimes the pain doesn’t show
But if you need to darling
Let me go

For a long time
Our fortunes climbed
Now we’re in free fall
Writings on the wall

Deep in your heart
Theres an answer that you know
No need to keep your secrets
Anymore

Still sometimes the pain doesn’t show
But if you need to darling
Let me go

Kenny,
Lump in the throat good. Its an uncompromising song and I admire the way you write about sadness.
As usual your vocal has an edginess that makes it more real and I really like the way you kept Janice`s excellent harmony high in the mix- almost a duet on the chorus.
Yes, one of your best.

You nailed this one, Kenny! The vocal delivery on this is superb, and the whole song has a morbid, honest tone to it.

Thanks so much for sharing! You should be proud of this one smile

Deryk,

thank you for the listen and kind words,

I had to respond to yours first because it made me chuckle

Country ballads are often sad and often about the end of a relationship

I don't see either of these characters killing the other or going insane,

that's how I would interpret "morbid" but I'm fine with that description,

read into the song whatever you want and maybe I'm misunderstanding a

word for sad. Do Canadians usually end relationships by killing each other?

(just kidding)

thanks

Great song Kenny.
Nothing like a well placed harmony to give another dimension to this well crafted song.
This ticks all the boxes.

Beautiful song Kenny. I love the way you mixed this one. Super vocal and Janice's harmonies were so delicate and framed your vocal so well.

Loved the acoustic..

Thank you Robert for the very kind words,

Bud set that volume level and the first thing I thought was - it sounds like a duet -

and I loved the blend, I agree, it's an excellent harmony

Kenny & Janice,

Neo-Classic Country at its best! Great song and both of you delivered wonderfully on the vocals. Reminds me of something Brooks & Dunn might have recorded. And back in the early 90s there was a guy named Andy Griggs who would have knocked this out of the ball park. But, have no doubt, this is super recording of a truly great song. Raw emotion and biting truth - fabulous lyric!

Hahaha! Perhaps "morbid" isn't the best adjective - I was referring more to the tonality and delivery than the subject matter. A wonderful song regardless!

Rest assured, us Canadians don't kill each other after a breakup - we just say sorry back and forth til the end of time smile

Kenny, I really like this one. Janice adds her perfect harmony and takes it to a different level. The acoustic sounds super. Definitely one of your best. Beautifully written and performed,Tom

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
