Hey I know this sounds crazy, but is there any easy way to sort the styles to find the ones that were used (or something like them) in the very first years of BIAB so you can try out the "old school" stuff in all of it's glory? I suppose you could just sort by date??
I would really dig having that list. It would be kind of like a time warp "Smithsonian Collection" of classic BIAB from back in the day. I would love to be able to study what people were using when the program first came out vs. what it is today.
Maybe in an upcoming menu in 2018 we could have a "Totally Old School" category.
I know it sounds crazy but I would love that. Maybe it already exists in another form.

I believe Band-in-a-Box started with 24 styles and those styles are now "built-in". The style names start with zz such as the default ZZJAZZ.STY.
While using the Stylepicker when you sort using the "MIDI #" they show up as MIDI # = 0. MIDI 0 includes more than 24 styles but the ZZ styles incuded in set 0 are the original styles.

Yep, just filter on MIDI style set "zero" (since they finally fixed that in the StylePicker). All the original styles start with "zz".
I often still use the "zz" styles when first starting a song, just to get a sense of the feel of the song, since MIDI generates instantaneously. Then I move to finding a more current style (RealTracks or otherwise).

I love those ZZ styles run through Garritan! I love anything old school anyway. Also, I find it an incredible jolt to my creativity to listen to what people started out with, and then think, wow, look what additional stuff I have now. Holy Tomato. Then than starts me down a rabbit trail of.."Hey I wonder why some people are always complaining..." But that's a whole 'nother story.  Thanks John.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first?
