Ok, I would like to know if there is any way I can get a result to sound like the solos in the Master Jazz Guitar Solos add on? I have tried by having the solist make a solo off of the solo itself that's on the melody line when you load it in BIAB. But, the results are dissapointing using both real tracks and the soloist styles that make the solos.I use the Melody influances the solo box and use custom and put everything at 100%. It will make a solo, but not as complicated as the original solo itself. Now why would I want to do this? Well, I don't play guitar for one and I sure as hell don't know Jazz Guitar. But, I love Jazz Guitar and the tone and the whole aspect of it. I have bought every single Jazz Guitar VST out the and amp sims to duplicate the sound and have come mightly close. But, I can't keep using the same old solos in BIAB. After a while they all start to sound the same. I mean the midi versions especially don't sound geneuin like the real tracks, but the real tracks seem to use the same phrasing over and over no matter how you change the chording. I guess I'm asking the impossible. But, if anyone has any tips or tricks I'd sure appreaciate it. Thanks Leonard
Actually Jazz guitar is my initially studied instrument. Maybe as a result I don't try to look for sound samples or VSTs to emulate the sound based on midi. The real-tracks, as recordings, are as good as I have found, in terms of phrasing and tone, to supplement my recording.
For the past couple years, my blind ambition has been and is, piano. Here we have both the real tracks and real-midi tracts from PG. On top of that there is a world of great midi sound available to us.
Don't know if that helps, but at least you know that others understand your quest.
Have a look at www.RapidComposer.com for fitting any midi anywhere over different chord/scales. It will import all the keyswitches for any vst and save them to a phrase that can be dropped in and fit over any chord/scale. It will also run in vst mode within Biab. It has a melody generator though I have not tried it out that much. Look through Post your own Tips and Tricks here there are lots of examples.
When I have the funds I'll try rapid composser. I already have 2 great sounding Jazz Guitar VST an Orange Tree and Impact sound Archtop. Both sound great. Thanks for the info
There's a free to try Demo version, and there will be another sale special soon http://www.rapidcomposer.com/news.html the LE version will do everything you need, though you can upgrade at anytime or when there is another special.
I hope it's not too much info for you, RapidComposer is a bit frustrating at first but the end result is worth it. Don't worry if you can't work out all of this, someone else viewing or searching the forum might find it helpful.
The RC keyswitch control .rcCTRL only works in the full version, in the LE you need to make the keyswitch notes and set them to Absolute so they don't transpose. C:\Users\User\Documents\RapidComposerV3\DB\Archtops Kontakt.rcCTRL So you just need to copy the keyswitch notes to the rcCTRL like the one I posted above, * just change the octave up 1, so if the KS is C0 change to C1 in the Archtops Kontakt.rcCTRL for RapidComposer.
Here's Archtops Kontakt.rcCTRL with just a couple of keyswitches added fr the two Archtops, you can add the rest:
A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
