Hi all here is my latest. May ring true for those that have raised children.
All comments welcome.

Daughter dont go

Don’t go to the city of reputed renown the evil's there will take you down.
There’s all sorts of rabble with their sleazy designs, daughter don’t you go to town.

Think of what you doing and don’t hesitate or honey all night long be pacing the floor

Hear my words of wisdom and avoid those chains There’s no need to walk out the door. No! No! No! There’s no need to walk out the door

Bridge

...........................................................................
What will you do when your trapped within the darkness. No! No! No!
What will you do when your lost there all on your own.
...........................................................................

I raised you as my own since your sweet mother died.
Always kept you close by my side.

There’s no other kin that's been closer to me, Oh daughter don’t you make me
cry.

Better take your chances and you run back home, the devils got his evil vice.
Best call to the heavens and beg your release, no one’s gonna hear you crying. Oh no no no. No ones gonna hear you crying. No ones gonna hear you crying.

Hello Rob,

I liked this a lot! To my ears, it has a late 1960s vibe. The additional reverb is perfect for this song. Strong vocal and perfect backing tracks.

We have 2 daughters - 46 and 48 years old. Fortunately, no real problems with either of them. but your message is good one.

Wishing you the best. Hope all is well in Oz.

Alan

Hi Rob,

Very good song and yes it's true.
Never mind how old they are and if it's a daughter or a son (I have a son) you always worry (a bit).
So... very good lyrics and vocals!

Cool song, Rob. I heard the late 60's vibe that Alan mentioned - sort of like The Animals, but updated. Good mix. Good vocal...

That's an interesting arrangement, vocal and lyric.

Different in many good ways.

As I'm sure we all have, we've seen friends and families that were fortunate
with no problems in this area and others that lived through hell.

Good message song and a nice production to present it with.

Enjoyed it!

Wow, you nailed this! It definitely sounds reminiscent of music from the 60's to me. It's got a mesmerizing groove, and not to mention - holy moly, is this tune ever catchy! By the end of it my foot was tapping, and I was definitely singing along to that chorus in my head (only in my head though, so as to preserve the sanity of my co workers).

I really, really liked this. Great job, and thanks so much for sharing smile

Rob,
There`s a nice moody atmosphere ( yes, I got that Animals vibe Floyd mentioned too!) and a driving beat going on behind your excellent lyrics. Your vocal is good - really sounds like you`ve walked the walk on the advice here... which definitely hits the mark with this dad.

This song really has a vintage feel to it. It looks like I'm not the only one that thinks this! Seems it reminds people of a 60s vibe. Maybe that's the vintage vibe that I'm getting from it.

I really love this arrangement, and I really like the overall style choices that you've made here. I think the vocals are also on point. You really did a fantastic job on this one!

Thanks for sharing.

Cheers,
Ember

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
