Video RT's are SIMPLY video renderings of existing (sans video) RT't? i.e., Video RT's add zero NEW RT's? Or are there additional RT's that are not part of the RT's 1-300 plus any bonus RT's (you may or may not have bought) buried in those installs?

I think answer is yes they are just Vids of EXISTING RT's but... you know what ASSUME does

I haven't had time to dig into this to verify [plus now I'm in middle of the Samplitude Pro X3 install, download and backups so busy doing other things]. You'd think I'd have verified FIRST since I went ahead when I got 2018 and simply bought the V.RT's 3-6 for grins before checking into it

Thanks
Larry

I don't know the exact answer to the question, but I do note that Video RealTracks have only been made available for the most recent RealTracks. This makes me think that Video might not be available for all other pre-existing RealTracks. I note a few from November 2016.

I have no proof, this is only supposition.

I haven't noticed a statement from PGM though, who would be able to clarify quite accurately.

When you go to create the video, you are only presented with the tracks that have video available for them. In a five track song that has three available video tracks, you will only get three check boxes for your video.

The video realtracks were a surprise to me too, probably a nice little feature but wonder how they could be used, other than to learn a lick or too, or maybe even to to cut to, in a video of one of your own songs, but not so sure if that would work good.

Maybe PG just wants to give us more of a realistic feel of the musicians being present.

Sometimes I feel now, that biab has totally matured not a lot more that can be added to it.

Again my only question (possible a concern or consideration for future buys of them) is do they, or will they ever, include UNIQUE RT content (sans the Video part)??

Many (most) existing RealTracks are without the video part (nothing prior to Nov 2016).

Out of 5,959 styles on my system, I have 135 styles that have one or more Video RealTracks associated with them.

Will new RealTracks be produced without Video? Only PGM can answer.

(That is, if I'm understanding the question correctly.)

I've not figured out what they are useful for either.

Good point but there are improvements suggested in the Wishlist that I would have greatly preferred over this new functionality.

This is a very important question! If I decide not to buy the Video RealTracks, and that is exactly what I did, do I still have the RealTracks from those or am I missing out on them?

No, my concern is nto if they produce RT's without videos - I could care less if they do or don't make more videos.

I'm concerned that they may produce RT's that have video and you can ONLY get those RT's WITH a VIDEO pak (you know inseparable, TIED at the HIP, etc.)!

PG jump in here please!

That is exactly what I meant too! Based on what I see so far, I do not want or need the videos.

No need for concern on this issue. Any Video RealTracks is also available as an audio RealTracks. The Video RealTracks just add video files to the same RealTracks audio directory that you have. Many people learn from the RealTracks, and as we know a video is much better than audio for teaching.

Have Fun!

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
