Have A Christmas Party

Christmas Party

A bit late but here’s our J&B Christmas song - a silly little rockabilly ditty.

And even if you don't like rockabilly we hope you enjoy the outro grin

Lots of reverb and delay here and and a near mono mix aiming for that 50's sound.

Comments are always welcomed and Happy Holidays y’all!!!!!!

The tech stuff:

Janice: Vocal / tripled with various combinations of echo/delay added to each track.
RD: BoomChickaEv16
RT 2421:Bass, Acoustic, RockabillySlapBoomChicka
RT 2424:Piano, Acoustic, Rhythm RockabillyBoomChickaKevin
RT2423:Guitar, Electric, Rhythm RockabillyBoomChickaBrent (comped from regenerations)
MIDI SuperTrack 2470: Piano, Rhythm RockabillyBoomChickaKevin

Effects: Logic Pro X Delay, Logic Pro X “Blue Echo” pedal sim, Nectar 2, Neutron, EMT 140 Plate Reverb sim and Addicted Keys Upright Piano sound.

Mic: Rodes NT1 / Focusrite interface
Mix: Logic Pro X
Master: Ozone 8 Advanced

Have A Christmas Party

Intro

let’s have a Christmas party
let’s have a Christmas party
yeah we’re gonna invite nobody

It’s just gonna be me and you
It’s just gonna be me and you
hey, we’ll be the party of two

turnaround

gonna hang mistletoe everywhere
we’ll hang mistletoe everywhere
gonna let down my hair

We’ll dance around the tree
We’ll dance around the tree
just me me and my baby

Outro

Hi there J&B.

Wonderfully cool.

I'd much rather listen to this in the shopping mall than the tired old tracks we get every year.

Super backing, and Janice, you excel at everything you turn your hand to.

Loved the whole thing.

Merry Xmas.

ROG.

J&B,

What`s not to like! Having seen the video of Janice singing ( on Flod`s song creation post) I can picture some bopping going on while this was recorded.
Cool outro.
Merry Christmas!

Why can I just see dancing around the mic? Happy little tune!!

I wanted to write a Christmas song, but as much as I dislike Christmas, it may be better if I don't.

grin

I am using the new 1040XTRAEZ form this year. It has just 2 lines.

1. How much did you make in 2023?

This was just so much fun! listen to it a couple of days ago but just now getting around to comment - danged flu bug!

This is just what I needed to cheer me up as I listened again. I love Rock-a-billy - got one or two somewhere in the process. I often think of the days I listened to Carl Perkins, early Elvis and early John cash songs. That deep guitar reverb is such a signature part of the sound.

Janice's vocal's are always among the very best on the site. This is just further proof. Great arrangement and production.

And Merry Christmas to both of you!

Alan

J&B, This is a good time Christmas tune and should make the playlist of all Christmas parties. Bud it sounds like you've got the not so distant cousins delay and reverb figured out. The backing forms the perfect framework for Janice's perfectly executed bluesy vocal. Great outro! Merry Christmas to you both, Tom

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
