The update notes provide that "Added: The drop station has MP3 and WMAL (lossless WMA) quadrants added."

Welcome addition indeed!

However, when I updated the new options were nowhere to be seen :-(

Glad you pointed that out. The dropstation image file was installed in the wrong location, and we've fixed this in the patch. Please download the patch again.

Re: The update notes provide that "Added: The drop station has MP3 and WMAL (lossless WMA) quadrants added."

I've downloaded the 509 patch again (129,939,712 bytes) and installed.

Presumably this is a new feature of the '+' button in the center of the drop station, and not part of a change in the quadrant itself?

Trev,

When I re-downloaded and installed 509, I got the new look quadrant. I'm not sure what you'd call it now, though, a hexant (although the word doesn't appear to exist)?

That's weird Noel

I just downloaded again From This Link

I installed again, and I still get the 'old' quadrant.

Which link did you download from?

Trev,

I used the below link found in Andrew's post at the top of the BIAB (Windows) forum. (Which seems to be the same one you downloaded from.)

http://nn.pgmusic.com/pgfiles/support/patches/bb2018_update_build509.exe

Can I suggest that you save it with an altered name. I used Free Download Manager and it added (1) to the end of the download because the previous name existed.

Regards,
Noel

Hi Noel, yes, was saving with new names each time.

I found the problem. It's related to using custom skins. It's working now. At least I wasn't going crazy. However, come to think of it... crazy

Ahhh... cool.

As always, the devil is in the detail! It's what we don't think that's important that often turns out to be the stumbling block.

Hi VideoTrack,

I too found that when I right clicked on the chord screen and selected display Options.
I then set the select skin to default, closed the program then re-ran the update file again and the program now shows the correct items as per Noel96s screen capture.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
