Going back to blue
https://soundcloud.com/dr-buddy-love/going-back-to-blue

Style is _CNTRYMF.STY (Medium-Fast Even 8th Country w/ )

RealTracks in song: 1255:Bass, Electric, PopShiningA-B Ev 120
RealTracks in song: 2975:Vocal Oohs-Aahs, Rhythm Pop3-part Ev 085
RealTracks in song: 1256:Guitar, Electric, Rhythm PopShiningGritty Ev 120
RealTracks in song: ~~686:Organ, B3, Background Pop Ev 120
RealTracks in song: 3053:Accordion, Rhythm PopRockCory Ev 120
RealDrums in style: NashvilleEven8^6-a:Snare, HiHat , b:Snare, HiHat Open

I had the pre-chorus and chorus for a long time and couldn't find a verse I liked. A friend said put it out anyway, you can always change it later. So here it is. I think I went a little overboard on the tube overdrive on the vocals, but I liked the performance so I kept it. Hope you like it.

Hello Zydecoal. Your style is very similar to one of our forum members.
I found this tune catchy and well constructed. Great mix and chord progression.

Hello, "zydecoal"...

Cool User's Forum handle cool !!!

The energy in "Going Back To Blue" makes it sound like it was recorded for an audience gathered at a big party for the band's release of the song. It's upbeat, the RealTracks are energetic, your vocal is clear and soaring, and the quick tempo changes added the element of surprise. Your apparent free-wheeling chord structure is colorful and adds an exuberant feel to the music.

It'd be great if you'd provide us with the lyrics, because the music and your vocal are so sweet to listen to. Your singing voice reminds me of whichever musician sang the lead vocals for Steely Dan's songs.

This was fun to listen to, and not a little nostalgic!

Big smile,

LOREN

Wow - what a tune! I find it to be very reminiscent of the 80's, which is most definitely not a bad thing. It is really easy to tap your foot and bob along to. The chords and your vocal performance are wonderfully catchy. It's got a lot of energy, a fantastic groove, and enough change-ups to keep it continuously interesting.

Great work, and thanks so much for sharing smile

thanks for the kind words. here are the lyrics
Going back to blue

I bought Kerouac a beer and I roadied for the Stones
I know everybody here but I'm going home alone.

Peter Pan's going to pee his pants when he learns we are through

You can go where you want to but I'm going back to blue
going back to blue, that's just something I thought I'd never do
you can go where you want to but I'm going back to blue

It's a mystery to me how this bloody thing went down
ancient history to me since she blew out of this town

Full blast turned to half assed and then I just got numb

chorus

pain to Portland and back again. Send the bad news to Pembleton.
I put my foot down but I slipped on the ice.
I want to tell her that I love her but I wont tell her twice

instrumental- chorus twice

So glad you posted the lyrics as sometimes I have a hard time knowing what someone is saying especially if they have an accent.
Nice upbeat song and like the imagery in the lyrics. Has a rock n roll feeling.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
