Hrm... I'll definitely need to re-do the vocals at some point. I'm just no good at layering vocals! wink

Thanks for the positive feedback!

Vocal control, you say. Never heard of it. Is that some kind of ProTools thing?

Hello, David

Very nice tune with great orchestration!
The beginning of melody is really good.
I am a big fun of orchestral sounds.
Your orchestration of solo violin, French horn, oboe is modest but very brilliant and comfortable.
Enjoyed my listen a lot.

Best regards.

Shigeki Adachi

Man, This sounds really good. The vocals are excellent. Great melody throughout. The mix is just right. Love the drums. I liked every bit of it, Tom

This is a really nice piece. I like the way it builds. Lots of good stuff here. I love the horns. Them and the strings give this a very ellegant sound.

David,

You've done a wonderful job with this.

The orchestration is fantastic... lush and very, very tastefully arranged. It must have taken hours and hours to get this so precise and so seamlessley integrated.

From start to end, my attention was focused on what I was hearing. When the ending arrived, I blinked because it seemed like I'd only started listening a few seconds earlier. I don't know how you did it but you managed to make time stand still for me for three minutes! Amazing!!

All the best,
Noel

Hi, Samuel.

I love the horns, too! I also tried to sneak in an english horn - which is neither English nor a Horn - but I ended up using an oboe instead. Maybe next time.

Thanks!

Hi, Noel.

Obviously, I tried to create a build and flow to the song. But I think another factor was the I put this song together backwards, starting with the backing tracks, then adding BiaB to sweeten it, figured out a melody, and finally wrote the lyric.

So I think that had a lot to do with how well the parts locked in together. Where a BiaB track sounded good, I turned it up, if only for a measure or two. Where it clashed, I just took it out.

Thanks, Joe.

It's always pleasant to drop a BiaB track in and find that it's playing exactly what's needed in a song.

You're welcome! - Glad you're enjoying the program!

David,

We don't believe we actually ever heard you sing smile
We do remember some vocaloid like recordings in the past.
This is really good! A 70s/Dan Fogelberg kind of sound.
Beautiful harmonies as well.

Hi, Rob and Anne-Marie.

That's 'cause I don't sound as good as you two. wink

I've actually sung on some other songs, but this is one where I've actually put some work into the vocals. So you haven't missed much.

Sometimes it's hard to find quiet time around the house. Right now, my daughter is doing dishes, my son is loudly and dramatically running a D&D campaign on his computer in the other room, and the heater is wooshing. I'm grateful for all of these, but it does make recording vocals difficult. smirk

Well done. There is something about this that brings to mind songs from the AM radio top 10 - late 60's maybe?

Hi, Greg.

In all honesty: thank goodness for pitch correction.

I'm an OK singer, but recording vocals has brought front and center many things I need to work on vocally.

Thanks!

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
