Hi All, Back from a short break with a bit of Rock-a-Billy. This is a sort of tribute to Sonny Burgess who sadly died in August last year at the age of 88. He had his first hit in 1954 with "Red Headed Woman" and was still giging almost to the day he died. Fabulous. The rhythm section Drums - RD Country reduced 8s at half tempo. Bass - Midi, played in from the Alesis Q49 keyboard Rhythm guitar - RT 703 Accoustic guitar Piano - Midi Supertrack New Orleans Boogie The Brass Section Trumpets - Midi, Edirol Orchestral Saxes - Midi, Forte Lead Sax - RT 716 Tenor Sax Boogie Lead guitar - Fender Jazzmaster. (DI) Vocals - Shure Unidyne 3. So, boogie on down... I've Got A GirlI've got a girl, sweet as sweet can be I love her a lot, but she don't seem to love me I've got a girl, she's over six feet tall I've gotta stand on a chair, if I want to see her at all I've got a girl, says she loves me so She spent all my money, left me feeling low I've got a girl, always treats me wrong If she ups and leaves, I'll be glad she's gone I've got a girl, just walked out on me So here I am alone, happy as can be Always grateful to anyone who has the time to give it a listen. Cheers, ROG

ROG,
This is REALLY well put together. Very big, yet very cohesive. All the parts work together perfectly. (cool bass!)
Sounds like a big rock band recorded in a live session.
Super!

I was just mentioning to the other guys in the office that rock-a-billy isn't something you hear very often anymore! I'll have to show them this song to show them it's still alive and kicking! Really awesome job on this one. It really captures the heart of the genre. Thanks for sharing.
Cheers, Ember

Very refreshing and catchy, although nothing new in this type of song, vocals and modern mix make this really worthy tribute.

You either get rockabilly or you don’t. This showcases everything that is good, actually great, about the genre. It has the energy, the rhythm section, the sax solo, the smoking vocal and, man, that bass!
We’d pay to see this band or to own an album of them.
This is what a standout late 50’s rockabilly band would sound like if they’d had today’s production technology. And we thank you for the opportunity to experience that.
Pure joy!

What a tune! It is wonderfully catchy, and the arrangement is so lush and has tons of charisma. I'm just imagining this performed in a live setting and filling the dance floor in no time. A great groove, a great vocal performance, and just overall a well written song. Great job, and thanks for sharing
Cheers, Deryk

Hi ROG Sounds like a MGTOW song... I like this it has a nice groove. Good job! Hi LP, Many thanks for the listen. I must admit that I had to Google MGTOW to find out what that was all about. Yes, it does appear to fit, but I must say the song is not from personal experience! Cheers, ROG.

fj Floyd - always pleased to get your opinion. Yes, the double bass does sound good for a sample and I have to say that it's much easier playing it in from the keyboard than playing the actual instrument. I've used one over the years and although I love the sound, it's not my favourite thing to play. They're too big, the action is usually horrendous and they're remarkably quiet, plus you need a truck for getting to the gig! Many thanks for the review. Cheers, ROG.

Greg Hi Greg, I think a lot of people don't realise that the Beatles did music like this in the early days. I remember it well! Many thanks. Cheers, ROG.

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.
Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!
If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.
A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
