Hi all. Wanted to try and write one of those mid to late 1960 classic country tunes.
So this is my effort. All comments welcome Rob.

Dont Bother Me

Ive been living twelve long months with out you.
But then you go and ring me once again.

Ive been rid of all my thoughts about you.
But then you go and bring it back again.

Chorus
..................................................................
Wont you let me be Dont bother me.
Wont you set me free Dont be bothering me
..................................................................

Bidge

Chorus
..................................................................
Wont you let me be Dont bother me.
Wont you set me free Dont be bothering me
..................................................................

Ive been spending all my nights with out you.
Even through in darkness makes me wail.

I been spending day light hours not think about you.
When evening falls your there with out fail.

Chorus
..................................................................
Wont you let me be Dont bother me.
Wont you set me free Dont be bothering me
..................................................................
Bridge

Chorus
..................................................................
Wont you let me be Dont bother me.
Wont you set me free Dont be bothering me
..................................................................
Bridge
Chorus
..................................................................
Wont you let me be Dont bother me.
Wont you set me free Dont be bothering me
..................................................................

Sounds great!

Sounds like classic country to me!

one thing:

around :51 starts some strings and voices I think. They are beautiful, but if you were to pitch this as an era piece you might need to take them out and just it let ride without them.

So maybe you could have two version in case you want to pitch it as a period piece??

I could be wrong.

Rob,

This is a great song and vocal. I love the way your voice slides into those notes... Excellent job.

Love the fade-out ending as well.

Start with the oom-pah bass, bring in the piano... Perfect.

Nice vocal, good to hear the Aaaah sneak in for a visit.

Bob already mentioned the Roy Orbison-ish vocal slides, but it's worth mentioning again. Nice! smile

Vocal control, you say. Never heard of it. Is that some kind of ProTools thing?

This is awesome! You definitely captures that old school country vibe here. It got my toe tapping the whole way through, and I can't help but imagine how amazing this would sound performed live. Your vocal performance is seriously on point here as well.

Great work, and thanks so much for sharing smile

Rob, I think you certainly accomplished what you set out to do! I remember those days of classic country music and you nailed it! Your vocal kind of reminds me of a mix of Jim Reeves and Marty Robbins. Not a bad thing at all! Great work! Thanks, Torrey

User Tip: How to add drum fills without changing any other tracks

MarioD has shared some great advice when it comes to adding drum fills without changing any other tracks in your song:

There have been a number of questions asking how to add drum fills without changing any other tracks in a song. This is especially important if one is holding a chord for a few measures and wants to add a drum fill prior to the next chord. The following is how to accomplish that:

1-get the instruments/tracks to play like you want but don't worry about the drums for now.
2-generate the song.
3-freeze all tracks
4-unfreeze the drum track
5-add your fills where you want them
6-generated the song again - note this will only generate the drum track and not the frozen tracks
7- when you get the drums like you want them freeze the track

Review - Band-in-a-Box® 2023 for Windows is Overflowing with Features!

Dennis posted his very thorough Band-in-a-Box® review recently, where he dives into some of the new features added with version 2023: Sound-Guy's Band-in-a-Box Review

Read his thoughts on the Download & Install Manager, partial track regeneration, Playable RealTracks, Audio Editing, the addition of SynthMaster, the VST DAW Plugin, and more!

"Band-in-a-Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is, without negative connotation, a monster of a program. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. No DAW can do some of the things BIAB does, while BIAB can do a lot that DAWs do."
