I'm imagining what my ancestral homeland is like, never having been there..

Mementu di Agrigento

======================

We came to this island trek expecting just to find
Distant cousins, family tree
From Palermo toward the sea;
Show us Naro, there where it began.

In mediterranean sun our destination lies
Naro nestled on the hill
Where our family's living still
But this island has more than family ties..

Chorus:
Her stunning beauty treats the eye,
Neath' cloudless skies above;
Sicilian memento,
Life lentimento,
Love Agrigento,
Call it the Isle of Love!

Descending the mountain road there's richness to explore:
Grecian ruins, southern shores,
Turkish steps, the local lore,
Friendly neighbors who open wide their doors--

Very melodic. The intro reminded of the James Bond theme.
Your compositions are always very interesting to listen to.
Great lyrics. Rob

Hello, Tom

Listening to your music is always a big fun for me.
And this song is no exception.
The melody is really nice.
The Semitone descent lines of minor cliché (Am - Am#5 - Am6 - Am7) is also my favorite.
The way to use E7#9 is orthodoxy and very effective.
The modulation at the chorus is very latin and feels good.
The obligatos of Accordion, Hamond B3 organ, Cello, etc. are also very comfortable.
Enjoyed my listen a lot.

Best regards.

That is actually a really cool idea for a song. It would be really neat to be able to explore the places your ancestors once lived.

Really cool arrangement. Thanks for sharing!

I like the strings - they immediately catch the ear, and you continue to do interesting orchestration throughout.

The drums kicking in at the chorus caught me by surprise - clever. I also like the overlapping chorus at the end.

Good song, with lots of ear candy to enjoy!

Vocal control, you say. Never heard of it. Is that some kind of ProTools thing?

There's just so much to like about this.

The Latin vibe, the quality vocals, the strings, the total arrangement and so much more.

Going back for another listen.

Nice work on this one, Tano smile It has an absolutely infectious groove, and I like all the subtleties to the backing music too. It's almost like the closer the listen, the more you can pick out. And as always with you - your vocal performance is strong and distinct.

Really well done! Thanks for sharing smile

Very cool song!! Are you a Michael Franks fan? I hear some of his vibe in your tunes, and your vocal processing is quite similar. Very much enjoyed this! Take care. Greg

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
