I can't get Big Notes Mode to toggle off after I turn it on in RealBand 2018 (build 5). When I click on the Big Notes Mode icon, it toggles from big notes with note names inside them to even bigger notes with note names inside them. I can't get it to return to the original note size with no note names. I've even tried to quit RealBand and restart the application, but the Big Notes Mode seems to be stuck on! I'm running RealBand under Windows 7. I don't see this issue with BIAB 2018, only RealBand. Please advise. Thanks.
When I turn Big Note Mode off, the notes do go back to their original size, but the Note Names to remain (this has been reported). If you hit the Opt button to get to Notation Window Options, you'll find the Note Names drop-down menu on the right. Change it to None and they go away.
Regarding the size, Big Note Mode changes the Font Size in Notation Window Options to 120%, and when I turn it off, that setting goes back to the original setting, which for me was 100%. If I start at 60%, the Big Note Mode button toggles between 60% and 120%, so it is remembering my original setting.
When you turn off Big Note Mode, what does that Font Size setting change to?
Hi Kent, When I hit the Opt button to get to Notation Window Options, there is no Note Names drop-down menu on the right of the dialog window. Is it somewhere else on the screen? If I look at the change in font size when I try to toggle Big Notes Mode on and off, the font size toggles between 100% and 121.21%, but I am still not able to get the note names to go away because I can't find the Note Names drop down menu. Please advise.
This image below shows where Note Names (#2) is found in my Realband settings.
If you don't see it there, try downloading build 5 again from the link below and reinstalling it manually. That might make a difference. (Install build 5 by right-clicking on it and selecting "Run as administrator"... also, check that the paths are correct when you get to that bit of the installation.)
Noel, Thanks for the screen shot and the tips. I figured out why I couldn't find the Note Names dropdown; I was inadvertently looking at the Lead Sheet Options dialog window rather than the Notation Options dialog window. Both the Lead Sheet and Notation windows look quite similar with an Options button on the upper left and a Big Notes Mode icon at the top, and I wasn't paying close attention to the window title when I pressed the Options button. I am now able to turn off the note names by making the proper selection in the Note Names dropdown. Thanks again for all your help.
