Never Dream Of Dying I wrote this song for an on-going local song contest, the subject is to write the theme song for the next James Bond movie, it's plot is supposed to be based on the book Never Dream Of Dying, hence the title of the song. The lyrics were inspired by a recent James Bond movie where he was having fun in bed with a woman who accidentally decides to go to a bank. I assume most of us would think such a woman is very suspicious, but 007 does not suspect anything, of course. RealDrums: BluesRock x2 Loops: basicrock100f, crack140drum2, ethnicgroove125adrums RealTracks: Baritone Guitar #2446 Electric Guitar #2618, #2676, #658, #660, #1000 (DI+Amplitube) Electric bass #1522 Acoustic Piano #1277 Organ #674 MIDI: The Orchestra, SampleTank 3 Vocals by me Mixed in Sonar Platinum Lyrics: After martinis you have her in bed You may be a bright mind but your end lies ahead blinded by beauty you won't see the threat: an angel of a villain a deadly brunette. When it comes to women your instincts betray you are not the hunter you are the prey.
You wouldn't be an agent, just a fool man if you wished to die in her arms tonight only your blood flooding on the divan or your tears pouring down for the siren in white. Never act like an amateur harden your heart, don't fall for her refrain yourself from crying never dream of dying.
You may find a sweet girl with love in her eyes admire her dimples, tattooed butterflies if you consider taking her as your wife you are writing a full stop to the tale of her life. She is your soft spot, the target of fate your enemies attack, they won't hesitate.
You wouldn't...
Never act like an amateur...
Don't make friends with anyone trust only in your loyal gun treat every girl as a danger zone never start a family of your own.----------- Janne

Yes this would be a good intro song for a 007 movie. This has all of the required components, cinematic, suspenseful and action packed.

Janne, I admire the ambition this - and its a good listen. It really does have many of the hallmarks of the Bond themes,so I can tell you did your homework! There are some cool lines, like these:
You may find a sweet girl with love in her eyes admire her dimples, tattooed butterflies
The big production sound works well and I especially like the baritone guitar coming in at the end. Good luck in the competition!
Robert

Very cool songwriting exercise, and a great outcome! The power and movement of the piece is very Bond-ish. Loved the background power synths!
My only comment: your lyrics are TOO good, they would NEVER be used in a Bond song!
Words like "divan", "siren", and a few others are excellent and perfect in your song, but I think that the Bond producers would ask you to use less artistic language!
Thanks for sharing this quality submission to the song challenge!

The original Bond theme has baritone guitar so I tried to bring that feeling to the song, although in slower tempo, I used half-time setting for it. Janne

Hello, Janne
A very nice Bond's theme! I think that you grasp the atmosphere of the film of 007 very well. Tremolo guitar has the feeling too. Timpani is very effective. Enjoyed my listen lot.
Best regards.

Thanks for your positive review of my song And you are right about the lyrics being too good, I don't make music for an average Joe... if the producers wanted to use my song, it would definitely be hard for me to accept any simplifications to my lyrics but I'm sure they'll have better songs so I don't have to face that dilemma Janne

What a tune! I love the power behind this one - I'm definitely hearing the James Bond influence here. The whole tune just sounds so lush and gigantic. Not to mention, the way your vocals reflect against the intensity is otherworldly. Very well done - thanks for sharing
Cheers, Deryk
