I am using BIAB 2017. I just got my song to the point where I would like to render the bass and drum parts.
I found the pop-up where I believe one makes the selections to render the tracks.
It says "Render to Audio File" at the top of the pop-up.
This pop-up (which is typical of BIAB's 25+ year programming history) is over the top! It is UNNECESSARILY complicated!
I simply want to render two tracks (bass and drums). That's it. It took me more than a minute to read this pop-up and try to figure out which button to press on it.
Surely your programmers can figure out an easier way to do this?
I still don't even know if I chose the correct button to press!

I am now watching a BIAB rendering video on YouTube and see that BIAB 2018 has finally attempted to clean up the complicated render dialogue pop-up that I mentioned above.
From what I can see, it has been improved to a certain extent.

I have a vague recollection that the same options are present in BIAB 2017 (I might be wrong, though).
To get to BIAB's standard view, use CTRL+T
1. mute all tracks except Bass and Drums
2. Select "Save As" (#2 on image)
3. Select "Save song as audio" (#3)
4. Select "Export song as audio" (#4)
5. Select "Export as WAV" (#5) -- note, if you try to export as mp3, it may or may not be successful depending on whether or not the driver is installed; BIAB does not install its own mp3 converter.
Thanks Noel, that was a fun exercise to try but it didn't help really.
First off I already had my tracks converted to .wav files. Second, your method only gave me one .wav file with the bass and drums combined. I needed separate tracks for the bass and drums.

I must have misread your post. I thought you only wanted a single file of combined bass and drums.
IN BIAB 2018, when I want to save a single track to wav, I....
1. right-click on the track's name in the mixer window (e.g. right-click on "542:electric guitar dreamy", etc.)
2. select "Track Actions"
3. then select "Save track as wav file" and navigate to folder in which to save it. It's also possible to change the name at this point so that the final wav file will have a name that's friendlier.
This works for Real-instruments and MIDI instruments for me. (I always regenerate before using this.)

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
