Here's another mood I really enjoy in music. After the last fun, discovery and 'inspiration' (if you would call it that) of the "depressed category" - I thought I would suggest this one. NOtice I didn't pick the most obvious category after "depressed" - that is "happy / feel-good"....unfortunately, this is the mood most foreign to me - and the music doesn't help as much as it should lol. I'll leave that one for somebody else to start should they be interested. In fact - share some of the other moods of music you find yourself drawn too, with a few examples....but do start a new thread for the sake of organization ; )

What would be really cool is if we could create and add to a poll where everybody could vote or order their preferences on the shared songs...I know it's easily done in FB - but I'm not sure we could do it here.

What comes to mind for first are the following:

1.) White Rabbit

2.) Lots of Doors songs - maybe mine is "The End" ---> pick your favorite

3.) The Hurdy Gurdy Man - by Donovan - now he has quite a few winners in this area also, I think.

Share yours too : )

Oooh I'm excited to hear what people post for this smile I love weird and unconvential music.

I'll start with some psychedelic rock. I feel a lot of forum users know about The Doors and the Grateful Dead so I'm going to put some modern examples I like a lot.

First is a link to the tune "Warpainting" by The Myrrors. They are a modern psychedelic rock band from Tucson, Arizona that borrows heavily from 60's psychedelic music.

Next is a tune called "New Person, Same Old Mistakes" by Tame Imapala. Tame Impala is a music project created by Kevin Parker, who is an Australian musician, singer, arranger, producer, and just about everything else. He is based out of Perth, WA and is known for doing every single thing in his music. He plays every instrument, records and mixes it all, and does everything else like mastering as well.

Below is a link to a "Gooey" by Glass Animals. They are English indie rock band from Oxford that employs a lot of psychedelic influence. They are really unique, and blend in textures from pop and electronica as well.

Lastly, below is a link to a tune called "Nuclear Fusion" by King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard. They are an Australian band based out of Melbourne, Victoria. I'm a huge fan of these guys, and they are known for their extreme quantities of output and for putting on an extremely elaborate and energetic live show. They have released 12 albums since 2013, averainge 2 or 3 records a year since they started. Their style is based a lot on improvisation, which makes for a unique listening experience and also serves as a throwback to when improv was more prevalent in rock music.

There's already some interesting songs here, and not many people have posted! I'll have to think on this one personally. I've never really listened to songs that fell in to that category, so it's going to be super interesting to see what people have to say, or listen to what people share.

Cheers,
Ember

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
