Hi, friends ! This maybe one of my last surf tunes depending on how my voice will allow. I could not have done this without the Daniettes (i.e. the Voice Aahs of BIAB and naturally without the splendid Box Band backing up it all ! I only had my celebration semi-acoustic for solos so I chose to sing the chorus part instead ! The style used is HAYSTAX.STY (Country Boogie) and the instros within are: Bass: 1845, Piano: 1854, Drums RD:s Southern Fast 12-8 Soul Guitar 1: 953, Guitar 2: 956 and Daniettes being Vocal AAhs 3063 Recorded with mixcraft 8 pro - reverb and compressor used Here are the links: http://soundcloud.com/user-337827005/surfers-fatehttp://app.box.com/s/zznci5bh6vgydrfkwzxm3al1mpf5fiuc.....and here are the lyrics: SURFERS FATE (Music and Lyrics by Norman Wibe) Weather´s just fine for surfin´along today so will you pack your things once again, my dear my little darlin´we´ll have to go for we don´t know for how long it will show but if we leave now, we´ll be back by five , I swear surfin´away Can you feel how excitement grows the closer we get to the surf and the waves that is somethin´I´ll never forget We´ve been doin´this thing so many times before glidin´like magic over the ocean´s floor love the moment to be towed out to sea and to ride the waves don´t you see an addiction, leavin´ you always wantin´more and to adore ! Can you feel how excitement grows the closer we get to the surf and the waves that is somethin´I´ll never forget or a solo Hurry, darlin´ vamonos now ! ´cause it´s gettin´late ! weather´s fine and the surf seems to me there to rise so great let´s go fast, thats the right thing to do I need you darlin´,we´ll have to be two You know this is what we both could be callin´”surfer´s fate” surfer´s fate surfer´s fate Cheers Dani

Well done dani48! I really enjoyed the overall chord progression. Great work on the guitars and rhythm too. Reminds me a little bit of The Beach Boys. Thanks for sharing!
Cheers, Joe

Hi, Joe !:))
Thank you so much for your most kind words ! The papaummmawmaw is Beach Boys which was intended too. Though I love their music I am not even close to sound like them - Brian Wilson knew what he was doing and I just wanted to have some fun, which it has been producing these small BB:ish tunes. Unfortunately I think I have to move to other genrés but in that case I´m gonna miss those sounds!:)))
Cheers Dani

Hi Dani,
You really captured the essence of surfing music with this one! Definite similarity to The Beach Boys and Jan & Dean. Great harmonies and lead vocal. Loved the key modulation. What a great listen! Best to you, my friend.

Great work here, Dani You absolutely nailed the harmonies here, and that groove is infectious. It had my toe tapping the whole way through. Good job and thanks for sharing!

That was fun! It certainly caught the flavor of those classic surf songs, and put a smile on my face.

Such a fun song! It has the perfect surfer vibe to it, and I think that the vocals really suit this style of song! You should be very proud of this song.

Hi, Al & Di !
Excuse me this late answer to your most kind comments !
I feel humbled by your kind words, I really aimed at the BB:s but, of course they are in a class of their own as well as having gear to work with !

Hi Dani,
There's no-one on the forum who does the classic surf sound as effectively as you do. I love the bass vocals in the opening! You certainly have a wonderful range of notes that you can bring to a production.
As always, I enjoyed travelling along with your music. I'm always entertained when I listen to your work.
All the best, Noel

You are still hanging 10 Dani!
Another great surf song. Flashback to the mid to late 60's when I was listening to Jan and Dean, The Beach Boys etc.
Excellent vocal and mix.
Me, it's not about how many times you fail, it's about how many times you get back up. Cop, that's not how field sobriety tests work.
