Hello, forum friends

Since I started to compose, I am always thinking that I would like to write an opera some day.
It is my dream, maybe an impossible dream.
This is my exercise for writing an opera.
There is a famous French novel called "Dangerous Liaisons" in my favorite stories.
It has been made into movies many times, but no one has written an opera yet.
So, I chose "Dangerous Liaisons" as a subject.
It is Aria for the scene where Madame De Tourvel finally falls in love with Vicomte De Valmont.
I would like to appoint a soprano singer, but unfortunately there are no people around me that can sing classical music or songs. So this time I made it by using Vocaloid.
Any comments encouraged.
Always welcome.

Best regards.

Shigeki Adachi

Title: “Madame De Tourvel’s Love” from “Dangerous Liaisons”

Vocal: 初音ミク (Hatsune Miku), vocaloid

Link:
https://soundcloud.com/animarorecords/dangerous-liaisons

Style is KLADRMAN.STY (MIDI)

MIDI Instruments are :
Acoustic Bass (33),
Acoustic Piano RH (1),
Acoustic Piano LH(1),
Slow String (50),
Additional Solo Piano by me
All instruments played with EastWest Symphonic Orchestra and Steinberg The Grand3

Summary of lyrics:

Ave Ave Maria
Please let me be kept safe
From his dangerous sweet words

Why does he have such an immoral feeling toward me
I will never be able to betray my husband

I absolutely will not listen to his words
Bad gossips about him are always talked
Unlike his good appearance

Please do not come closer to me any more
Love affairs exist only in a play
And will never come true

But love sneaks into my heart like a demon
When I notice, I am already thinking about only him

Oh, please forgive me to be a sinner
I will be held by my most beloved man tonight
Ave

Hi Shigeki,

This is simply beautiful! I can only imagine how this would soar with A strong female soprano singing it. Miku did a terrific job - but a soprano would be so exciting.

Your composing skills are so professional and well done. This would be a wonderful song in an opera. Keep dreaming and keep writing, my friend. You have the talent and indigenous inspiration to write an opera. This is beautiful! best to you.

Alan

Absolutely beautiful work. Superb piano playing and a wonderful composition.

I think there is a Kontakt library with a virtual soprano vocalist which may be of interest.

Shigeki Adachi,

So beautiful!

The strings move perfectly. Your solo piano is impressive. Your vocaloid skills are amazing.

Excellent mix.

I wish you success in your opera journey!

Shigeki....Bravo!!
I applaud you for your exploration into so many types of musical composition. I love how you took your interest in a literary novel and brought it to life in operatic form. The structure of the song is very much in the operatic tradition for Arias, the melody is lovely and the piano accompaniment with light strings is just right. Now all you have to do is complete the libretto and compose the rest of the opera!

Lovely and the solo piano is outstanding as is the entire production.

I would think that many soprano singers, if they heard they would want to join in.

As everybody says your skills with the vocaloid are amazing.

So beautiful....

Hello, Peter

Thank you very much for taking the time to listen and comment.
I am always very encouraged by your nice words.
I am really glad you like this tune.
And thank you for your advise.
I checked a Kontakt library with a virtual soprano vocalist.
But unfortunately it can sing the melody only with no words.
I would like to try a soprano vocaloid, PRIMA from Zero-G.

Best regards.

Hello, floyd

Thank you very much for taking the time to listen and comment.
I am really glad you like this tune.
The strings lines remain as they are generated by BIAB.
I myself was surprised because the perfect lines were created.
BIAB's ability is truly amazing.
The way to the opera is steep, but I would like to do my best.
I am always very encouraged by your kind words.

Wow Shigeki - you really did an outstanding job here. The vocaloid fits it surprisingly well, though I can just imagine a soaring operatic vocal on this. I can't get over how pretty this is. It is absolutely mesmerizing to listen to.

Never give on that dream! Thanks for sharing smile

A beautiful song, but more light operat than opera. Dangerous Liaisons done like Les Miserables, this would be a great hit.

Very nice!

Since Prima is a Vocaloid 2, you'd probably have to import her into the full Vocaloid 3 or 4 editor.

But Prima seems to only have an English vocal bank, so getting her to sing in Japanese might take a bit of work.

It would be even nicer if you could find a real soprano to sing your melody! smile

Vocal control, you say. Never heard of it. Is that some kind of ProTools thing?

Beautiful, has a classical opera feel, I hope you find a real opera singer to do the vocals. Nice simple arrangement. The piano solo is really lively.

Hello, Tom

Thank you very much for taking the time to listen and comment.
I am really glad you like this tune.
I have loved musical and opera from my childhood.
And I have read many literary novels in my school days.
The way to the opera is steep, but I would like to do my best.
But in order to complete this opera, I have to write 20 more songs.
Long way. Too long way.
I am always very encouraged by your kind words.

Best regards.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
