John and I played in a band together in Germany back in the 1980s. He's a fabulous musician - plays pedal steel, sax, oboe, flute, clarinet, lap steel, dobro, bass and guitar. He plays all of them exceptionally good! He recently got off the road touring with Ronnie Milsap. Hope you enjoy these as much as I do. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=At_2XsgRTAg John is playing sax and pedal steel on this video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z_8jeK2-3Z0 John is being interviewed by Mel Bay Music in this clip. https://www.youtube.com/user/johnsaxsteel John playing a beautiful version of "God Bless The Child". The inset next to his name is him performing with Ronnie Milsap.

Hello Wayne, Thanks for dropping in for a look & listen. And yeah, John is a very talented musician and a super nice guy. You're right, I'd love to play music with him again. It was a real pleasure. I checked out your Marine Corp link. Very impressive! I was stationed in Vietnam about the same time as you. I was in the Army. I was stationed primarily in Pleiku (Central Highlands) with the Army's 4th Infantry Division. For the first months, I was a regular infantryman. But the last 9 months I was with the LRRPs. For those who may not know, that's Long Range Recon Platoons. I was there August if 1966 until September of 1967. I got shot in February of 1967 and spent almost a month at the Army hospital at Camp Zama Japan. Welcome home, my friend! I'm retired from the Army (1966 - 1988). Retired as an E-7. Anyway, thanks for dropping in and leaving those nice words about my friend. Best to you. Again ... welcome home! Alan

[quote=chulaivet1966]I checked out your Marine Corp link. Hey Alan.... Thanks for checking out the USMC link and the kind words....and the same back to you. Feb '66 - March '67 for me. Ha...oh yeah, I know where Pleiku is (down in II Corps) and also know that catchy little acronym LRRP. Glad you make it back from our picnic from a land far, far away. Many of our Brothers were not so lucky. Some years ago I also made my own personal DVD documentary about my experience there before I forgot anything further.....I think I'm getting old. Thanks for response....don't want to hijack your thread and wax morose here. Back to topic....
