Hello, forum friends Here is my submission for Xtra Styles PAK 5 Song Contest. The category is Rock-Pop. This song was written about 10 years ago, I remade it with Xtra Styles PAK 5 for the submission this time. It is a story of Boy Meets Girl. Rock song. Any comments encouraged. Always welcome. Best regards. I'm good at dancing and both hair and makeup look perfect on me I will seduce him with this extremely short miniskirt But why did you make a mistake, my angel? You shot the other person The silver arrow you struck hit the boy Who was standing next to the boy I had aimed The boy stuck with the arrow soon came close to me friendly And he spoke to me frankly with a gentle face But he took a quick look at my legs He must be a bad boy, it’s your blame, my angel What a naughty angel Why did you deliberately miss the target? No, I am sure you must know properly That he would become a best partner for me My mischievous cupid of small wings, Now I want you to be the guardian for our love If he is looking at someone else but me Please tell me quickly with keeping it secret from him, my angel This is just between you and me

Shigeki,
Everything about this is so good. All of the instrumentation fits together and compliments each other so well. Love the melody and the vocalist has a beautiful voice.

Excellent! Really expert use of style and the real tracks. Very solid composition, using the foundation of the rock style with layers of harmonic interest. I was especially impressed by the lyrics—There is a special skill when one can write a sensible-sounding lyric for the opposite gender—This can be very difficult! I also like the contrast between the music for the versus compared to the theme for the chorus. Beautifully scored over all including the use of the live performers. Outstanding, Shigeki!

Awesome changeup Shigeki. Very cool song. The backtrack was excellent. Super vocal.. I just love symphony music in rock songs. Brings up memorys of Procal Harem that played with the Edmonton Symphony. Guitar was very cool as well

Shigeki,
A opening that fits the "Furious" style, very good vocals as always by Yoko, and I think that`s the first time I`ve heard one of your band play lead guitar- nice! The icing for me is the big string arrangement which takes a good rock song into Symphonic Pop. Good luck in the competition!

The intro guitar solos set this apart. Classic tone & style. The song is a wonderful piece of fun and the strings really sound just right for the hybrid style.

Shigeki Adachi,
Very dynamic rock piece. The strings and lead guitar play against each other perfectly throughout. Nice movement all along.
Terrific arrangement and excellent mix.
Yoko's vocal is excellent.
This sounds like a theme song from a James Bond movie...

Like floyd said it sounds like a Bond movie theme.
The vocals, guitar, strings and arrangement are tremendous. It's hard to imagine the amount of talent and effort it took to produce this.
Congrats to everybody involved.
Excellent!!!!

Starts like any famous Bond theme. Then melody, chording and orchestration is like straight from France's Eurovision Song Contest entry in the 70's. And on top of this your superb arrangement, orchestration + rocking guitars is a great combination, the solo is excellent. Fantastic approach and great vocals, sounds like a big classic hit to me. good like to the contest!

Hello, Tom
Thank you very much for taking the time to listen and comment. I am really glad you like this tune. And many thanks for your comment to my lyrics. Writing the lyrics for the opposite gender is certainly difficult, but as almost all of my songs are written for female vocalists, I must prepare such lyrics by all means. I am always very encouraged by your kind words.
Best regards.

Hello, Robert
Thank you very much for taking the time to listen and comment. I am really glad you like this tune, the vocalist and the guitarist. I am always indebted to Yamaha teachers in our live recording, but since I do not often record rock-like songs, this guitar performance may have been unusual. I am always very encouraged by your kind words.
Best regards.

fj Shigeki, Floyd said exactly what I was thinking. A James Bond Movie came to mind after just 10 seconds. The strings and guitar lead gave this a whole new dimension. And Yoko sounds fabulous (she always does). The mix is perfect. What a BIG SOUND! Kudos for as terrific song! Alan

As others have said, that ascending 5th is firmly linked with James Bond scores - not a bad thing for a song that sounds big. Great playing, strong singing and excellent orchestration! Strong chorus. I will seduce him with this extremely short miniskirtHa! Hilarious lyric, great guitar solo. The only nit I've got is the electric guitar never seems to stop playing, even at the chorus. But that's really minor - this song is a really, really good.

This is very well done. Like has been said, I could here this in a Bond film. Great arrangement. Everything works.

Shigeki Adachi,
The opening of this reminded me of 'The Avengers', a British TV show from the 60s.
This is incredible composing and arranging. You certainly have a finely tuned ear for how to mix sounds together for the best possible outcome. From start to finish, I was with you all the way. At the end, I felt like I'd run a marathon! It was so jam-packed with energy and the feeling of action.
Also, Yoko's singing was excellent!
I thoroughly enjoyed this.
All the best, Noel

Hello, floyd
Thank you very much for taking the time to listen and comment. I am really glad you like this tune, the vocalist and the guitarist. As David Cuny mentioned, it is right that ascending 5th is firmly linked with James Bond scores. However, the chord progression has been changed a little as described below.
Bond's theme < Im -Im#5 - Im6 - Im#5 - Im -Im#5 - Im6 - Im#5> This tune < Im -Im#5 -Im#5 - Im6 - Im6 - Im7 - Im7 -Immaj7>
I am always very encouraged by your kind words.

Hello, Noel Thank you very much for taking the time to listen and comment. I am really glad you like this tune. I much appreciate your nice words to Yoko's vocal. This song was originally written for a different vocalist, but it was reborn by Yoko. As I like the ascending 5th chord progressions, I have often used them. But it seems that they are also reminiscent of spy movies by all means, I would like to use them carefully in the future. I love French Pops in the 60's and 70's very much as I wrote to Janne. Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!
If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.
A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
