Sorry to hear about the change of plans. Hopefully whatever you decide to do in the end, or wherever you move to, it's ultimately the right choice for you.

I am looking at the little cities west of Gastonia out toward the Tryon area. Rutherford County, like Forest City, Spindale, Shelby, Rutherfordton.... It will take a lifestyle adjustment to be sure, going from a town of 200,000 to a place with less than 5000. I have a couple friend there who would be available for things like rides from doctor visits that I can't drive home from. But as far as socializing and such, I don't do that NOW. I am truly the most boring person on earth. It may even end up that I don't move at all, though I really do want to get away from this climate.

As long as there is an ammo store.....

As someone who was always healty and now goes to more doc visits than I ever imagined, I'm glad that is paramount in your thinking Eddie where ever you wind up living.

I have to be especially aware of this because for the eye injection appointments I can't drive myself home. So I need to have somebody close by. Plus when that time comes that I cash my chips in, my executor would only be 8 hours away if I was in that part of North Carolina. Like I said, I may never move. Who knows? I change my mind like I change my socks as it is.

Please tell my nieces and nephew that. All we got in Ohio is drug dealing. No jobs. Get an education then move on would be best for them.

Gastonia...... ummmmmm..... Check those towns closely for their actual crime stats. I know Gastonia is bad and I think Forest City is similar. But then again..... most towns and cities are all under the influence of druggies and their associated problems.

I'd be looking somewhere out in the country a bit. That's why we moved to where we are at now..... back up in the woods.

The latest update is that a couple came to look at the RV Sunday. They called me an hour later and said they would go to their credit union Monday and start the financing process. They coincidentally bank at the exact credit union I got the financing from. Had it not been for a computer issue there Monday that had them down for 3 hours it would have been done already.

They are getting a great buy, buying it for my payoff amount, and it will go to someone who will get use out of it. And as a bonus that will free up some of my monthly payouts. With no RV payment, thus no RV, I also don't need to insure it. So the plan of getting to zero debt outside of my mortgage by Jan 1 can likely happen. (I don't owe a lot on credit cards. I just want to owe zero on credit cards. A large chunk of my credit card debt is from the root canal I had done, and one fairly major car repair. So not recurring events.)

Kind of bummed about the whole 14 month series of events, but it seemed like a good idea at the time. Then again, so did all 3 marriages, so.....

Edit: I watched him drive away Tuesday about 2pm.

Upside: Without the need for a small car I can tow behind an RV I can now move from this old Corolla into the Jeep Renegade I like so I have a little more metal around me. It's about the same size as the Ford Escape I used to have, and has Jeep reliability. I have several Jeepers in my circle of acquaintances and they all swear by Jeep construction and reliability. And they climb rocks and stuff.

You're way too cool Eddie. Enjoy everything in front. Don't worry about what's behind. None of us can change those things.

Something to think about Eddie is cabs/Uber/Lyft to get around when you can't drive. Having friends is of course a great thing but if they're the same age as you are they'll have their own issues and may not be available when you need them. My best friend for example is very healthy himself but his wife has all kinds of issues and she hasn't driven for years so he's running her around a lot. Obviously she would take priority over me if she has an appointment the same day I do.

I started getting into Uber a few years ago for routine stuff like getting home after I dropped my car off at a shop and I don't want to bother a friend for something like that. They have a pool option where you're part of a 2, 3 or even 4 person pickup/drop off. It may take a half hour longer but the cost is half of a single rider trip.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
