How do I associate an email for BB as whenever I get an error in the prog and it wants to send fault report to PG it reports that no email program is associated with the program.

If the computer doesn't have direct email, you might be able to copy the entire message like this: Control-A to select All, Control-C to Copy All, Start your email program, create a new email to support@pgmusic.com, then in the body of the new email, Control-V to paste the entire message. (What? You got an error? In the program? Really?  ) Are you running as Administrator? That's the first question you'll be asked.

Ive not been running the program as admin, is it important to do that ?.
Ill try copying and pasting as you suggest next time it happens. Thanks for the advice.

Hello Royarn,
What you are looking at is the Stack Trace Report you can send into Technical Support. VideoTrack is correct, you can just copy and paste the information into an email and send it to support@pgmusic.com
If you are running into an issue, you can always reach out to Technical Support with or without the report, they would be happy to go over some settings with you.
Running the program as an administrator can prevent some more common issues on the Windows platform. Just in case you are unsure of the process:
- Right-Click on the Band-in-a-Box Icon or bbw.exe in your bb folder.
- Go to Properties > Select the Compatibility tab
- On the lower half of the menu, ensure 'Always run this program as Administrator' is checked
- Hit Apply > Ok
- This will give Band-in-a-Box administrative privileges, and will avoid most Access Violation errors.
Please Note: When running Band-in-a-Box as an administrator, Windows will ask you if you want to let the program make changes to your computer each time you run the program. Just hit 'Ok' each time.

Thanks very much, I'll try running as administrator as suggested and see how it goes, my problems have been mostly with using vsti plugins but I've now jbridged the ones I want to use so keeping an eye on the results. Once again thanks Roy.

To reiterate what I've said before, running as "administrator" is not the same as being the administrator of the computer. You have administrative rights as a computer administrator, but that doesn't mean applications and processes run (or in some cases even should run) with elevated administrative privilege.
But for some applications, BIAB and RealBand being two of them (based on user experience), the advantage of running BIAB as administrator is that, for example, sometimes plugins need the privilege to write to protected areas of the operating system (perhaps saving a preset, or writing a setting to the registry). When you run BIAB with administrative privilege, it passes that privilege through to the plugins it interacts with, and in general you have a much better experience. If you didn't have the privilege, it can crash or not get back the expected result and things can go awry. If it works great for you without administrative privilege, great; however, experience has shown that it will work best with it and to no ill effect.

John, very good summary. Is this in Tips and Tricks? It would be nice is we could just give the link each time the issue arises. Maybe call it “You should Run As Administrator” .

Thank you jford, so far it's worked ok, my Dimension Pro and Adictive drums are working as jbridged plugs, Just got to try xpand2 again as that was the worst one.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first?
