See Pat Marr’s answer. This is a terrible idea. I used to moderate a popular support forum and everything went to hell in a handcart when we set up a swap and sell subf forum at the request of some of the contributors. From a moderator’s point of view, it was a nightmare. Imagine if you will, PG music having such a sub forum. It starts off with little problem. Then one day someone posts his Les Paul for sale in the swap and sale sub forum. Then in most of the other sub forms our seller posts. “Please see my Les Paul for sale in the buy and swap Section”. The moderator has to remove all of the other posts and warn everyone about selling be restricted to the specific sub forum. As time goes on word gets out and People with no interest in PG Music. products but with items they want to sell without eBay consumer protections or fees start showing up on a regular basis. Moderators have to educate all of these new arrivals about the rules. Believe me. Having been there and done that it is a headache that the moderators would not want to take on.

Yep, I also moderated a large board and after adding a for sale forum we had to quickly require folks to have 25 posts in the other forums before posting a for sale item (to reduce spam). It still went south and we dropped it.

Yes although as forum members I thought trust would be there and peace of mind etc.

Thin skinned much? You asked a question and I explained from a moderation point of view and past experience why it doesn’t work. Don’t take the response personally.

I’ve actually stopped using eBay and craigslist because Facebook Marketplace is so much more easy to use. That and the LetGo app lets me buy local, with face to face dealings.

See Forum Rule #7

Yep.... most forums have rules against selling things. There are and have been a few exceptions on some other forums. Extenuating circumstances, from a very well known long time user, who fell on some hard times, needed to sell a few items to pay some bills..... the moderators permitted that exception to the rule because it wasn't like a common thing or an unknown new guy coming in trying to set up a store.

I'd certainly not gripe if such an exception was permitted here and done in a tasteful manner to help a "forum family" member raise some money to pay some bills in an emergency situation.

But certainly not on any sort of a recurring basis.

I've swapped on these forums, both publicly and in PMs.

Publicly it wasn't a swapping topic thread, someone was just complaining they bought headphones X and didn't like them.
I knew I did like them because I already had a pair, so I traded and gave up a more expensive set that I didn't like, and everyone was happy.

That was more of a side occurrence of a single post (not intended for swapping). But it happens!

I could see a swapping/selling Topic section becoming an issue.
Historically PGMusic gets crawled by Google at an admirable rate. As a result the activity is pretty apparent to the public quickly.

If you search on Google for the copied text from a new Thread here, PGMusic usually shows within a very short period of time in the Google results with the new thread.
Often within minutes.
If they did this, swapping results would be very available and then people with no knowledge of this site would be here selling stuff.
Then comes the legal stuff, and the increased bandwidth costs for PGMusic.
Not to be a grumpy old man, but I agree there are better suited places for this to be encouraged.

I don't think it would be an issue for a regular forum user to post some eqipment for sale in the off topic forum, but I also don't want to encourage a general selling place where registration gets you in business.
And sadly, I could see that happening.

Make your sound your own!

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
