Hi, Trying to print to a PDF file. I get this error, PDF995 Printer driver not found. I did download and install this driver. Power tracks seems not to be able to find it. Any idea's? Thanks Jeff
Please try this: Open the C:\PT\PDF995 Installer folder, right-click on Autosetup.exe, and select Run as Administrator. You won't see anything appear, but it should install automatically.
Then restart the computer, open PowerTracks, and try printing to PDF again.
As a long time PDF995 user (well, at least until I switched over to FoxIt Phantom - when I got it on sale), one of the settings you should definitely look at is the TrueType softfont settings. Set it to "download as softfont", which effectively embeds the TrueType font into the PDF document. This avoids font substitution. While it may print just fine on your computer, if you send the PDF to someone who doesn't have the specific font, they may end up printing garbage characters (especially with music) because their system can't find the font you used and will therefore substitute with a different font. Embedding fonts ensures the printouts look the same across all systems. It makes the file just a little bit bigger, but is worth it to me.

For PDFs I have had good success with CutePDF. It simply shows up as a printer. Just 'Print' to that printer option and things seem to always work. It pops up, asks where to save the pdf, and 'prints' it to a pdf file.
Of course, your mileage may vary, but it has been a nice option here for years. http://www.cutepdf.com/

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.
