I have owned BiaB Ultra for 3 weeks now. In the first 2 weeks every style/track I listened to or used in a song sounded fine, but in the last week some RealTracks have been infected with a kind of white noise. The noise is only there when playing the tracks in BiaB. If I render the song to a file and play it in other programs the noise disappears.
I have tried to solo the different tracks to find out where the noise come from, but there is not a clear system to it. Sometimes it is from the bass track, other times the piano or vibes track (just to mention a few).
I have done all the usual stuff like checking my cables, trying to listen through different sound cards, speakers and headphones and I'm quite sure it isn't a hardware problem.
Also I have not updated Windows 10 or any drivers during these 3 weeks.
Have any of you experienced this kind of problem and can you offer some help on what to do? It is really annoying and it makes it hard to work with BiaB since so many tracks now sounds close to horrible.
Any help will be appreciated!

The white noise sounds like it might be a plugin that's not registered. This is how companies 'encourage' users to register their software. Even free plugins usually need to be registered.
Do you have any plugins being used in this song? If you click on the "Plugins" tab in the mixer, you'll soon see.

No, I don't use any plugins (yet). And it is not just on one song. If I input a few random chords and then auditioning the different styles I can hear the noise in several styles/tracks.
Maybe white noise is a wrong term to use (English is not my native language) - it is a kind of crackling noise.
I wish I could post a sound clip with the noise but as I wrote the noise disappears when I render the song to a file.

Hi Will,
Which styles were you using when this happened?
Band-in-a-Box does use plugins automatically, even if you haven't told it to, and some styles use Amplitube, and will have bursts of noise if it hasn't been activated yet.

Hi Kent,
One style is _DEPART.STY where all instruments (except for the drums) has the noise.
Another could be _CHROME.STY (noise on everything except from Vocal Aahs and drums).
I don't know what Amplitube is or what it does. How do I activate it if that could help me?

Hi Will,
Those styles don't use Amplitube, so that wasn't it. Let's go to Options - Preferences - Audio. What's selected as your Audio Driver Type?
Please click on Audio Drivers next. What's selected in the window that appears, and what else is available?
Also, which version of Windows are you using?

That's it! WAS was selected as the driver, so I changed it to ASIO and now everything sounds fine again. I should have thought of that myself.  Thank you very much for your help! Will.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.
