When you have a minute or two to visit please give a listen to Everyday I Have The Blues just posted here on the Music Sample page of my website. It is the tune almost at the bottom of the page. As with all my recordings they are pretty quick down and dirty as I plug my laptop into my Roland BR 1180 and hit record. Then I record the guitar and vocals (using stand alone harmony hardware on some of the extra tracks, VIOLA!

Also as many of you know Mardi Gras is our next big holiday so to get the jump on my party planners I have also posted a few Mardi Gras songs as well. IMHO just another example of how realtracks (the use of the sax in this example) has expanded all of our horizons especially when it comes to booking potential.

Constructive comments and critique as always are welcome.

Move over BB here comes DC!

Now THIS is music.

Great backing tracks, vocals, harmonies and some outstanding geetar playing.

You’ve outdone yourself on this one Danny.

GREAT work.

Me, it's not about how many times you fail, it's about how many times you get back up.

Hey that's hot. Sitting here bobbing my head and tapping my left foot. I see what you mean about the sax. Everything is nicely in it's own sonic space. If you don't mind me asking what formed the rest of backing tracks - aside from your guitar.

A pretty cool interpretation. I grew up on BB's version, so I am sort of glad you took it another direction. Hey, that lead guitar tone is very, very, very nice. Nice phrasing and note selection, too. (I am undecided on the sax solo at the moment, though). Good singing, too -- pretty smooth.

Danny.

Sorry that nobody loves you or gives you any respect. It's sad to see you blue all the time.

I'll be your friend?

I enjoyed that.

Mario, Mick & Don

Thanks for the kind words, means a lot coming from you guys.

Ian,

Also, thanks for the kind words, the tracks are as follow:

Style = beebshuf.sty
Drums = Rockshuff 5 brushesride
Organ = 425 B3 Background Blues 120
Guitar = 421 Electric Rhythm 120

Played at 139 BPM

Kevin,

Thanks for the kudos. Regarding the sax I am not 100% pleased with the solo on this tune either. I was making reference to the way it fit a couple of the “Mardi Gras” tunes a little higher on the page. Bottom-line is that not always, but sometimes each of the horns seems to fit just right. And even when they are not a perfect fit they really accent a live performance, especially as “live” performing fits hand in glove with a solo being a bit off a wee bit now and then . . . sort of makes the performance a bit more human.

Thanks again all for listening and commenting.

Danny,

I can't get my feet to stop tapping - and I'm staying in a motel - the people under me will be calling the front desk soon I'm sure.

Enjoyed it

Powerman,

Considering what you do for a living (and your moniker) I would not be tapping too loud on that floor as the people under you may be calling more than the front desk!

Thanks for the kind words, just tap a little lower for safety’s sake.

Yo Danny. I love it. It's my favorite rhythm. Good on ya Mate. We gotta get together pretty soon. You're on my bucket list.

BTW I like the sax on this. Sounds like the way it'd be played live. Only thing it needs it to sharpen on the snare lick just a little bit. But that's just my liking. Not necessarily anybody else's.

One last thing just to make it even more super cool. Where you do the vocal repeat of, "Eveybody's got the blues", I'd put that on a separate track and blend my vox into the harmony so it sounds like a bunch of background singers. So when you use it to do a live gig it will sound like a studio cut or real people singing with you. Just my opinion, again. It's a keeper just like it is.

Nicely done Danny.
Great job.

I would like to hear a version of this tune with the accent on the beat, to see which one rocks better.

Russ,

Great suggestions, as soon as I get the 2010 package delivered I will be working on some new arrangements, and I will indeed try to accomplish what you suggested.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
