Rob & Anne-Marie,

This sounds good. The acoustic guitar sounds "just right".

I always enjoy hearing you sing in your own language!

Nice arrangement. Excellent mix. Vocals are a delight...

Much enjoyed.

Rob & Anne-Marie,
Lovey vocal and video - unsurprisingly pro level.
Excellent guitar solo and I really liked the use of the strings.
Wonderful songwriting.

Don't speak Dutch, but this oozes a sad, yet determined vibe to me.

Love the guitar work and the switches between finger-picking and single strums. Was that two different guitars? Or use of holds?

The harmonies were lovely and quietly supportive, as were the strings. The lead vocal is quality, and sounded great in the mix.

The Dutch language just have such a nice tone to it - especially when the vocal work is as good as it is on this track.

I really enjoyed listening - and it is for sure a song I will listen to more than once.

Pro level song in all aspects as per usual!

Love the vocals and harmonies. I actually like hearing songs sung in different languages, it lets me concentrate on the melody and tone of the vocal instead of being distracted by the lyrics.

My wife speaks dutch, I'll play this for her when she gets home.

The melody is really cool, has a strong late 60s vibe to it and works well with the chamber pop arrangement.
Singing in a language other than English is an excellent blind test for the song, structure and melody. You get a pass with distinction for this one.

Cheers

Excellent production! Marked with quality choices throughout: the BIAB band, style, placement of solo, vocal track(s)..especially liked the stop at about 2:00, also how the music tracks never over-took the vocal, but always supporting...very good 'architecture' to the song. Glad I decided to listen, and thanks for sharing your fine work!

Rob and Anne Marie, What a beautiful song! Even though I don't understand the language, I can still feel the sentiment and emotion coming through! Your work is always at the top level of anything presented here and this one is right there with the rest of your material! Thanks, Torrey

Rob & Anne-Marie,

I enjoy your folkier songs like this where the pure quality of your vocals and feel for a good melody shine through.
A lovely song that communicates the sad feeling in any language.

Wow - what a beautiful song smile Proof that music transcends language, because I don't speak a word of Dutch and felt the emotion just the same. You can feel the emotion in your voice and in the music behind it.

You should be proud of this one - really well done. Thanks for sharing!

Cheers,
Deryk

Irrespective of the language the sadness and emotion says it all...

This is beautifully crafted. The vocal, melody, mix, band choice...everything is superb.

And, as always, the video sublimely works with the audio.

Lovely!

I’m loving this. Great fingerstyle guitar and lovely vocals. Thoughtful arrangement too and the Dutch Language sounds so attractive in this idiom. Great harmonies too. It’s a yes from me - as they say in x-factor.

RnAM,

I don’t speak Dutch and have no idea what this song is about—though I kinda do. And what I mean is the song is beautiful and drips with sadness and emotion. Wonderful tune—great production. Killer!

My humble regards,

Deej

You don't need to speak the language to understand this... Absolutely beautiful.

Love the vocal and video...

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
