Sometimes I am logged in and go to "switch to threaded mode" on a post so I can see what I have replied to and have not, and it says:

"You need to be logged in to reply to this post."

But I am logged in.

So I have to back and scroll through stuff to see where I am and it is kind of annoying.

The fluke seems to happen for no rhyme or reason I can see.

Does anyone know how this happens, why it happens and what you can do to successfully use "switch to threaded mode" without backtracking a hundred times?

If I have just said something really stupid, I apologize in advance, because I know I often am stupid.

Dunno about that procedure but IMO the easiest resolution would be for an option to flag posts for which you have responded to. The board that I moderated (with others) for years had that. It was an admin option that could easily be switched on. Perhaps it is available for this board???

Yes.... we had a discussion on this several years back. It is something that would really be useful. At a glance you can see where you have commented. Maybe they will turn this feature on.... I'd love to see it.

I would be happy if in the meantime the "switch to threaded mode" feature worked without a hitch when you were logged in and trying to reply to comments to your song and didn't say you had to log in when you are logged in.

It is a real time saver if you don't have to smash your computer with a sledgehammer in a blind rage then go out and get another one.

Yeah, but that's the only way I would upgrade my system. You're trying to take away all my fun now?

David,

I've been working with Support for several days on a somewhat similar login problem.

We finally did a workaround by using a new password.

Still, it won't 'remember me each visit' even though I have ticked the proper box.

Strange, I've had the same login since day one 13 years ago. I've never had a problem at home but I have at the office. I think that's due to the office having an offsite IT company handling server security. What I have to do there is first login then go to My Stuff and try to change something. I have to log in again. After that I'm good for the session.

If I log in at the office and then go to a forum, I'm logged out and nothing worked until I discovered the My Stuff trick.

Maybe there's a clue there, dunno.

Bob,

I've used the same login credentials for about 16 years without a problem. Suddenly, it refused to recognize me until I changed password. So far, the workaround is working and it's only a minor inconvenience.

I'm blaming AT&T, my ISP.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
