Having fun with BIAB.
A phrase by fellow user was generously given to me to fool around with, so it inspired me to write this song sketch. It is about a hard day of work of city janitor.

Skin Of A Snow Tire

ReaDrums BluesRockFunky 16th

Morning comes early, too early to liking,
drinking my coffee chewing my muffin
Subway depression, metallic announcements.
Riders as robots, like gloomy accountants
But I aint care, too soon to retire,
I got bullet proof skin of snow tire

Shuffling workers, going to meetings
Cubicles dusty, I hear no greetings.
Broom and a bucking my only two fellows,
Its time to get busy and grease up my elbows.
There's is trouble in toilet for me to admire
But I just don't care, got skin of snow tire.

Time for hot cocoa, mood gently sliding
Hard working day spirally winding .
Soft lazy pillows are calling from bedroom
Their sweet angel voices I hear in my head now.
floor under feet feels like spring quagmire,
Hanging on coat rack my skin of a snow tire.

I would say it was a fun listen, but I feel for the guy.

No. I changed my mind. He's about to retire. It was a fun listen.

Sweet progression, great melody. Oddly, I was captured by the bass and vocals working together. Not sure why. That immigrant NYC voice is perfect, both in the write and in the singing. Such weariness. The last verse buttons it up.

And loved the scat ending. Icing on the cake.

Fun. And touching too.

Nice writing!

My favorite line:
"Subway depression, metallic announcements.
Riders as robots, like gloomy accountants"

And that little improv scat at the end was fun.

Enjoyed the listen, Mike!

Top of the morning...

Chuckle....I'm happy to echo other comments.

Creative lyrical write, well performed.
It a has swampy sort of mood too it which works well for me.
You definitely have your own style and BIAB is an excellent tool to nurture it and keep you interested.

I'm glad the phrase kindled your creativity.
Got me to thinking about what subject I'd come up with if I desired to squeeze that narly phrase into an actual song. smile

Well done.....and thanks for posting it.....back to it.

Guys, Thank you for undeserved feedback!
This was easy write, almost no struggle smile

It is about a city office janitor, but partly a true story.
Many years ago I was walking by 34th street in NYC and crowd was moving like there is no tomorrow. And there was this street sweeper guy with broom... And when I saw him, it was as he lived in different law of time. He was moving at different pace than everything surrounding him. It was a strange and mesmerizing experience.

Mike.

Wow - what a unique and inventive tune! I actually found the slightly off-kilter vocal delivery really mesmerizing and enticing to hear. It definitely gave it a special quality. Almost cartoonish in a way, but still sincere. All around, a solid tune - you should be proud!

Thanks for sharing smile

Great write. It's different in a good way!

The out front vocal works well and the mix sounds tight on our monitors.

Well done!

Hi!

Talk about a really cool song! The vocal was as interesting as the super lyrical write. You put me right out here with a broom and people swarming all around me. Loved it!

Rustyspoon#, sorry I almost missed this one. This has such a neat sound to it with some creative fun lyric content! That resonator really gives this song something that just carries it right along! Good work here! Thanks, Torrey

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
