Hi guys! here I'm back to my "comfort zone" with this brand new tune in which I tried to use one of the trade fours styles discussed a few days ago in the third chorus. Like I said before, with a decent drum vst you can achieve a credible drum solo. Intimate Encounter Style is M_JAZMID.STY (Medium Jazz Swing w/ Piano) BassCustom Synth is Hi-Q 033 02 Bass, Acoustic, Upright N Sforzando.tgs DrumsCustom Synth is Synth/Plugin Loaded (EZDrummer2, Latin perc and Addictive Drummer) PianoCustom Synth is Hi-Q 001 01 Piano, Acoustic, Grand Sforzando.tgs MelodyCustom Synth is Synth/Plugin Loaded (Sampletank2) SoloistCustom Synth is Synth/Plugin Loaded (Sampletank2) Style MIDI Instruments are : Acoustic String Bass (33), Acoustic Piano (1), MIDI SuperTracks in style: ~~1917:Bass, Acoustic, Jazz Sw 110 MIDI SuperTracks in style: ~~1896:Piano, Rhythm Jazz Sw 110 RealTracks in song: ~1249:Piano, Acoustic, Soloist JazzMike Sw 110 MIDI Drums :1 Standard Drum Kit (1) All midi tracks but the piano solo Enjoy! "Cuban Pete"... Honestly, I hardly know how to describe what I want to say to you about "Intimate Encounter", which, as you know, doesn't happen to me often . All right. O.K. Try this on for size: I believe you have reached a higher level of skill in melodic writing, compositional technique, and, obviously, drum arranging. Concerning the drum solos, I have dreamed about attempting that in my own jazz compositions, but I always backed down in the face of what I imagined would a near-impossible task of organizing percussion sounds on my own. Listening to "Intimate Encounter" was like listening to one of my old jazz LP's recorded live in some famous jazz club. It possessed the kind of ambience that was a hallmark of Blue Note albums recorded during the 50's and 60's. The melody line is bright, flowing and sophisticated. It lends itself to that kind of exciting, wordless "jazz vocalese" that singers such as King Pleasure, or Eddie Jefferson popularized. I guess I found the words I wanted to say, anyway, huh, "Cuban Pete"? Well, that's because of how swinging and well-put together your composition is. I've dug everything I've heard from you, but in my humble opiniion, "Intimate Encounter" very definitely puts you on higher ground as a composer. Really and truly impressed, LOREN (.a.k.a. "bluage")

Hi Mike,
Loren said a lot I agree with - and so much better than I could have said. This is definitely your strong suit, but everything you do puts me in a comfort zone. This is so well put together and executed. Your composition skills really shine on this.
You already know how much I enjoy your work. This one took my admiration up another notch! Classy, my friend!

Wow, all that clarity and prescence with only one Real Track! This is HighQ indeed - super melody and the solos are expressive. Have to read that drum solo post... whatever its about you`ve made good use of here. Excellent!

Well, I'm not quite sure what to say since I'm blushing while I read your comments. I'm not sure that I deserve such level of praise coming from accomplished musicians as you all, it's truly an honor. All I can say is that 99.9% of my tunes posted here I liked myself, otherwise they wouldn't be posted. Again, thank you all very much.

On another note: Loren, is only fair to say that is thanks to the magic of Band in a Box that I'm able to to this. As far as the drums composition, if you check the post about it you'll find out that is not that hard to create a drum solo. Again, the key is a half decent sampler.

Wow! One of the best jazz tracks I've heard in this forum. I'm really impressed - it sounds like one of my old jazz records. Very good job you did there!
I'm looking forward to hear more in this style from you. Will

Really nice work on this, Mike It has an almost playful quality to it. Love the groove, and your mixing job is superb as per usual. As others said - the percussion on this is incredible. You should be proud of this one - thanks for sharing!
Cheers, Deryk

Mike,
I'm more than just impressed... What a great work that is, what a heart-warming mood it creates...
Though I love everything about this song I'm absolutely stunned by what you did with the drums.
Thanks for sharing!

"CubanPete"...
I apologize for the delay in responding to your post concerning the drums composition. Could you tell me where the post is at?
Thank you, sir!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.
Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.
Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!
Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.
Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!
If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.
A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
