Hi. I'm a beginner. I'm looking for the an extremely simple style. All I want to do is have Band In A Box play a single Acoustic Piano chord per chord symbol. The closer it sounds to a real acoustic piano, the better (but I care more about the one chord played per chord symbol than about the realism of the sound). I don't want any other accompaniment. I think I want the chord to play pretty much until the next chord starts. Can anybody tell me where I can find that style?
Regardless of the version of BIAB you have, to have a piano play one chord, select the RealTracks Picker button and from the list that pops up, filter RealTracks for acoustic piano. From the filtered list, select a piano where the button in the upper right corner is for held chords is not greyed out and select it. This forces the piano to play a held chord for each note in the chord chart. In this case, the Style will not matter much though there are styles that utilize held piano chords.
Thanks! I followed your directions. I think it took me closer to what I'm looking for, but what I'm really looking for is a style that JUST plays a held chord of JUST acoustic piano without any other instruments. Unless I didn't follow your instructions correctly, this gave me styles that were full accompaniment.
Ed, you didn't mention what version of BiaB you have which could make a huge difference.
In addition to the good information above, you can attempt to get the program to deliver a Held Chord. To do this, enter the Chord followed by an Ellipses (...) and the letter p (for piano).
Eb...p
You could also mute other instruments using Bar Settings (Function key F5)
The success of the above will depend on the style chosen.
BIAB & RB2024 Win.(Audiophile), Sonar Platinum, Cakewalk by Bandlab, Izotope Prod.Bundle, Roland RD-1000, Synthogy Ivory, Kontakt, Focusrite 18i20, KetronSD2, NS40M Monitors, Pioneer Active Monitors, AKG K271 Studio H'phones
There are also two styles I recommended be created decades ago, one for swing and one for Bossa, that have held chords, and drums playing a beat (which you can mute). These are MIDI only, though, so the sound you hear will depend entirely on the quality of your MIDI synth.
One is HeldBosa and the other is SW44Held

That's great! I don't have set 233, so I went and took a look at it on the pgmusic website. The style you have highlighted and the one above it which is 060 seem like they would be great, but I have a couple of questions. There are two demo's on the website for each track, one is solo and one is band. The solo is the one I would want. Is there just a checkbox I can check to get solo or band to play or is the solo demo just for demo purposes? Also one is 60 bpm and the other is 120 bpm. Can I speed up or slow down real tracks using the tempo control or are they locked in to a particular tempo?

Regardless of the piano instrument you choose. From the main screen mixer. If you Solo the piano, it will mute all other instruments. Regardless of the Style, if you like the sound of the piano, you can have only that play and none of the instruments will play with the Solo selected for the piano. This mutes all of the other instruments in a style.
I'm not sure what the Web page plays, but I get the results you want with the Solo button in the program. You can then also use the ...p in the chord to Hold it.

Try "pianohld". It's a metronome with a held piano chord each beat or chord change. If you don't want the click track, you can mute the Drums track or replace it with a RealDrum.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
