Great work on this Chris! I really enjoyed the overall tone of this. I found this very soothing to listen and the guitar noodling is fantastic! Really enjoyed the movement of the fiddle with the rest of the instruments. Well done!

Joe

Hi Chris,

I might be the biggest fan of Gypsy Jazz on the site. I totally love it. Grappelli and Reinhardt are some of my most listened to YouTube visits and this immediately brought them to mind.

This is really nice!

I stand with Alan on this… Huge gypsy swing fan! Perfectly executed track and I love that you added the tuba, an element that I never would have thought to include in this type of band! Also really like how you ended it on that nice sweet up-note. Great listen on a Sunday morning!

Thanks Joe, Peter, Alan and Tom.
I've used tuba because I think that Dixieland Jazz and Gypsy Jazz have same musical roots. Christian

Chris,

Your Gypsy jazz music is always great!
I think they represent well the spirit of Django Reinhardt.
The chord progression is completely smooth.
Enjoyed my listen a lot.

Best regards.

We enjoyed that...a lot!

We've listened to gypsy jazz off and on for many years. We had a friend who could play the style extremely well on fiddle.

Well done!

Intentionally or not, there's something very "30's France" about the whole piece, with the melancholic melody and that chord progression in particular, that I just find completely irresistible.

I have to admit I was sceptical after just looking at that instruments list, which didn't really strike me as a good blend for the intended style... but that was before I listened to the song. Now i think this is nothing short of an absolute masterpiece!

EDIT: I'm only now spotting your geographical location...I was more on it that I even realised! grin

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
