Hey Peeps,

I just left a message on another post Re: the subject of "forum honesty" and "forum criticism" that comes up from time to time.

As a creative person, I think it is sometimes a good idea to step back from time to time and look at how far everyone has come.

Over the past few years, I would say the last 2 in particular, the song posters--who have been so kind as to share their musical gifts with us for free--have been improving their songs and increasing their chops at a fairly dizzying rate.

I think it is because everyone has been trying so hard to put their "game face on" that a higher level of passion and enthusiasm for the music has been created.

I have followed all of the forums where people have been sharing thoughts on mixing, tools, production, sharing great new songs and so forth, and it all seems to be building towards something. What, exactly, I don't know--but it feels like an army of high quality songwriters and producers is gaining strength on these forums. And, everyone is pulling together. I have this profound feeling that all of this unity is going to lead to big things for some people, and a growing sense of happiness and accomplishment for all.

Again, all of the songs from all of the song posters just keep getting better, and better, and better--some submissions here truly blow my mind, and I have had the good fortune to hang with some of the best of the best of the best.

I am very thankful that PG Music and its products have made it possible for me to record hundreds of songs in the past three years.

But most of all, I am very thankful for all the great friends I have made here, and all the collaboration that is going on.

Happy Thanksgiving Everybody.

David:
Those are very kind words, appropriate to the season. I feel it should have been me writing those thoughts, instead of you, since I so often get the feeling I am sitting at the feet of the masters, here.
Now, I have to stop and realize that the challenges I face are not unique, but are shared by many on the forum, even the more "advanced." That, of course, is a relative term, but still, "by their fruits shall ye judge them." The fruits around here are mighty tasty.
That said, this forum fills needs that are within BiaB and on the outside. Such an area might be production workflow, or at least the elements beyond telling us how BiaB was used, which elements, etc. Other areas include musicianship, in particular, piano and guitar. There is also a whole area of discuaaion pertaining to voice.
When I first came here, there was a lot of discussion about the computer. Things like analog to digital interfaces, DAWs, processors, memory, and the like. Somewhere along the line, someone here discovered Reaper and shared. Now, Reaper is in most everyone's toolbox. There has not been too
much talk about digital multitrack here. But, I can testify, as one who keeps up with that tech, the designers are always responding to consumer requests; especially in two areas: one, more power and working memory so that more instruments can be recorded simultaneously, and two, improved communication between tape deck and laptop. If I were not involved in this forum, I think a lot of this
would be going along outside my field of vision.
Finally, and David is just one example, when we have gotten to know, as it were, the creators, then hearing ther work takes place in a different dimension. I find myself thinking "Oh, I see what he or she is getting at." Veddy interesting, don't you agree?

Awwww...

What a nice, warm, inspiring, uplifting and thoughtful thing to say, Mr. Synder!!!

So-o-o, not only are you a prolific songwriter/performer, but now you've revealed yourself to be a "nice guy", too.

All of a sudden, I want to re-interpret the words that spell out the acronym, BIAB: "Bringing Individuals Around Beauty".

God bless you, sir, today, tomorrow, and f'r'ever!!!

Bottom of muh heart,

LOREN

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
